5 current WWE stars who are favorites of Vince McMahon

Randy Orton has been a top star in WWE for nearly 20 years.
Randy Orton has been a top star in WWE for nearly 20 years.

Fans of WWE already know that Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair are two of Vince McMahon's favorite stars. It's why both are usually always in title programs.

Reigns is the longest-reigning Universal Champion in WWE history, while Flair has also won numerous titles in the company. While the exact number is debatable due to how the company keeps the record, Flair is arguably the most decorated woman in WWE history.

Reigns and Flair both come from famous wrestling families, which has certainly helped the trajectory of their careers.

However, Reigns and Flair aren't the only current WWE stars that are favorites of Mr. McMahon.

The Chairman has been in weekly segments with Austin Theory. While it might seem like favoritism, the youngster has delivered in matches with AJ Styles, Finn Balor, and Kevin Owens.

While Theory might be one of McMahon's new favorites, several stars are already favored by Vince McMahon. Here are five such performers.

#5. Natalya has been with WWE for more than a decade

The Queen of Hearts has been a loyal employee for Mr. McMahon for many years. Other than Tamina, Natalya is the most tenured female star in the company.

Nattie has won singles titles twice and she recently held the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. She has lived through the Divas' Era in the company and was also around before the Horsewomen of NXT.

Once those four women burst on the scene, they started to occupy the top spots on RAW and SmackDown. Nattie has had feuds with all of them. With other stars coming and going, she is usually featured in some meaningful storyline which ends up having an impact on the pointy end of the women's division pyramid.

Natalya has lost to Aliyah several times. Also, The Queen of Hearts' mic work is pretty basic compared to other women in the company. She has trouble keeping up with promos against the likes of Becky Lynch, Bayley, and Alexa Bliss.

Despite that and the same move set she has had since her debut, Natalya is still held in high regard by McMahon. Part of it is due to her family name and part of it is due to being a veteran presence in the locker room.

#4. Sheamus has been a prominent mid-card staple in WWE for many years

When Sheamus made his debut for WWE, he was a presence in the main event picture. He won the WWE Championship on a couple of occasions, including one against John Cena. That was during Cena's run as the company's top star.

He hasn't held a major title since 2015. In that time, however, he has been a multi-time tag team Champion. Sheamus has also won both the Intercontinental and United States titles in his career.

Like Natalya, Sheamus is likely featured consistently due to being a favorite of the management. Through all of the recent drafts, he is always in a storyline and on TV.

Sheamus won the US title from Riddle, a newer star, and dropped it to Damien Priest. Whether he played heel or face, Sheamus has always been a featured performer. Mr. McMahon likely sees him as an extremely reliable performer.

#3. Tamina has been with WWE since 2010

Like Natalya, Tamina has been a part of the women's division in WWE for over a decade. She hasn't won a singles title (the 24/7 Championship doesn't count) but won the Women's Tag Team belts last year.

Part of the reason for her long tenure is her familial connection with the company. Mr. McMahon was very close to her father, Jimmy Snuka.

Despite not being a perennial title contender, Tamina is on TV almost every week. She has recently been pursuing 24/7 Champion Dana Brooke. Brooke hasn't exactly defended the title as it is primarily a comedic vehicle.

It was a tad strange last year as she still featured regularly on TV when stars like Mia Yim, Tegan Nox, and Shotzi struggled to do so.

While she has been with the company for over a decade, her in-ring work puts her towards the bottom of the division. Her promo work also leaves a lot to be desired. It's probably why she doesn't talk much yet is still presented as a physical threat.

#2. Happy Corbin is another favorite of the WWE Chairman

Baron Corbin has always been a great heat magnet while in WWE. His 'Lone Wolf' persona was perhaps his best, but it was also his first. Since his initial run, Corbin has played several parts.

He has been the Constable of RAW, King Corbin, Poor Corbin, and now Happy Corbin. The fact that he has changed characters yet is always a regular on TV speaks to the idea that officials love his versatility.

The End of Days finisher is also one of the most protected finishers in WWE. Corbin could have been a WWE or Universal Champion during his Lone Wolf run, but other factors prevented that from happening.

Before this new 'Happy' version, Corbin won the US title, King of the Ring, and Money in the Bank. If he wasn't a favorite of Mr. McMahon, he wouldn't have any of those accolades.

The Happy Corbin act might be hard to take for a few weeks, but he gets heat from the crowd. It's his job and he does it extremely well. It's also why he is always on TV regularly.

#1. Randy Orton has always been booked as a top star in WWE

Randy Orton wouldn't have won 14 major titles in WWE if he wasn't a favorite of Vince McMahon. The Viper has practically been a top star since the early 2000s, winning many Championships along the way.

During his tenure under McMahon, Orton has won the Royal Rumble (twice) and Money in the Bank. He has main-evented WrestleMania more than once and was booked atop the company alongside Triple H and Cena.

While Cena and Triple H are not currently active, Orton has remained a prominent fixture in WWE. He's coming off a run as RAW Tag Team Champions alongside Riddle in RK-Bro. The Viper has also avoided any severe punishments during his career after a rough start to his career.

Orton might not be booked on the level of Roman Reigns or Seth Rollins in 2022. However, he can still be counted on as a title challenger for any major belt in the company when needed. He even defeated Drew McIntyre during his run as Champion.
