5 Current WWE superstars that Vince McMahon is a big fan of

Mick Foley once said that to be pushed by Vince McMahon, Vince McMahon needs to be a big fan of yours. This clearly holds true, and through not only years but decades, we've seen some of the all-time greats emerge.

We've even had disagreements with Mr McMahon over his perception of certain superstars and why they weren't pushed. Take Cesaro for example. In 2015-16, he was hotter than ever as a singles star, yet Vince McMahon adamantly said that he felt The Swiss Superman didn't possess the charisma of a top star.

And it should be noted that while being a great in-ring performer helps, it's not the biggest factor. It's charisma, character work and crowd connection that makes the biggest difference with the boss himself.

And it's understandable as to why. Fans get invested in characters, not just good wrestlers. Whether we like it or not, McMahon does have a specific eye for talent that fans don't realise (And often underestimate). Here are a few current WWE stars who McMahon is clearly a big fan of.

#5 Becky Lynch

This is most likely the most recent addition to the list. It was clear that while Becky Lynch was viewed as an important asset for the women's division, she was never going to be #1, or even #2 for that matter. It took her over three years on the main roster to finally find her stride, but when she did, it caused all sorts of impact.

Not only did fans get behind her more, but she shed the skin of her old character and brought out a new and more relentless, ruthless and badass version of herself. She was no longer the stereotypical good babyface.

As of WrestleMania 35 season, she has basically been the most pushed superstar in the company, appearing on both shows and feuding with all the McMahons. If you're feuding with the McMahon family, then it's clear that the company has big plans for you.

#4 R-Truth

You don't always have to be the main event star for Vince McMahon to be a fan of yours. One of McMahon's favourites and real-life good friends happens to be none other than WWE veteran R-Truth.

It's hard to dislike Truth at all, especially given how much he's made us laugh and smile throughout the years. He's played his role, never complained and has always had a good connection with the WWE Universe.

Moreover, he knows how to make the boss laugh. In a story narrated to Sam Roberts on his wrestling podcast, R-Truth revealed that he texted Vince McMahon before Royal Rumble 2016 about taking out a ladder in one of the best moments of that match.

McMahon reportedly replied agreeing as well as adding a few laughing emjois. You probably would have never imagined McMahon doing that now, would you?

Either way, Truth has a great relationship with McMahon and it's clearly seen.

#3 Roman Reigns

We would understand if this addition surprises you, because Roman Reigns may not be "current" due to his inactivity. However, we are in the firm belief that The Big Dog will not only make a speedy recovery but an extremely triumphant one as well.

In that regard, Roman Reigns should be #1 on this list, but this isn't a list in any particular order. Reigns is everything that Vince McMahon sees in a top star, and he's invested a lot of his time and money into trying to make Reigns the next top superstar of WWE, whether fans liked it or not.

This resulted in four straight WrestleMania main events for Reigns, and he was the front and centre of WWE from early 2015 up until the tragic announcement in late 2018.

Regardless, we know that Reigns has many more world titles and a lot more success in WWE waiting ahead of him. We wish The Big Dog a speedy recovery.

#2 AJ Styles

If you were to be told in early 2016 that not only would AJ Styles sign with WWE, but he would become a multi-time WWE Champion, a bonafide main eventer and a Vince McMahon favourite, you probably would have thought it was a dream of some sort.

However, AJ Styles quickly won over Vince McMahon, convincing him that not only was he the most Phenomenal in-ring talent of this generation but a true world champion as well. McMahon was blunt with Styles from the start, telling him that he has plenty of guys who can do what he did. He demanded to see a Styles bring out the pit bull in him, an aggressive side of him.

Styles took the advice to heart and it's shown in the success that he's had. That's what separates the cream of the crop from the rest. AJ Styles now belongs in the history books thanks to his second WWE title reign.

#1 Seth Rollins

Vince McMahon has been a fan of The Architect from day one, and it's clear given that he was the second most pushed performer in WWE up till a couple of years ago. With Roman Reigns seemingly out until 2020 at least, it's clear that Vince McMahon has chosen Seth Rollins to be The Guy going forward.

It's not a decision that fans would protest, because many felt that Seth Rollins should have originally been The Guy a few years ago when the Roman Reigns push had begun. If you've seen the WWE 24 series, you'll have seen two big interactions between Seth Rollins and Vince McMahon.

The first one was during WrestleMania 32 weekend when Rollins was injured. He met McMahon backstage and the boss was elated to see The Architect, giving him the biggest embrace possible.

After WrestleMania 33, Rollins can be seen having an interaction with Vince McMahon about his match against Triple H. McMahon was thoroughly impressed, telling Rollins that he should have been proud of himself with that performance.
