5 directions WWE will take after WrestleMania 35

WrestleMania 35 is over and it's time for the post-WrestleMania season. It's actually a really interesting period of time because WWE usually gears things up. More often than not, underwhelming WrestleMania shows usually lead to enthralling post-WrestleMania periods. Just look at 2016.

WrestleMania 32 was arguably the worst of the decade, but the months that followed it saw an absolutely incredible direction. Sure, WrestleMania 35 was not without its faults. The show was too long, many of the matches underwhelmed and the entire show seemed to be built around three matches.

However, the outcomes were spot on and the right people have walked out of the show of shows with championships. With that said, the post-WrestleMania period has a high chance of being extremely interesting and we could end up seeing some great and not-so-great changes coming.

The Superstar Shake-Up will definitely have more answers than the RAW after WrestleMania. Either way, here are a few directions to expect now that the show of shows is over.

#5. A unified Women's Division

Becky Lynch's match at WrestleMania didn't finish as hoped, but she did get the job done as many people had hoped. That's a good thing and she has now established herself as the face of the women's division in WWE.

While the common thought is that she'll likely vacate the SmackDown Women's title or drop it soon, it's actually more likely that they're going to unify the titles and the division going forward.

While it's not known how exactly they plan to do that, having a Tag Team Championship for the women certainly helps their cause with regards to the brand split issue.

All we can hope is that this isn't another end to the brand split. Ideally, it would be better if the titles were separated.

#4. NXT stars to finally be assigned their brands

Is RAW or SmackDown their future?
Is RAW or SmackDown their future?

Over the last few months, we've seen quite some superstars from NXT get called up. Some of them include Ricochet, Aleister Black, EC3, Nikki Cross and Lacey Evans. Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa did tease joining too, but Ciampa is out indefinitely while Gargano won't be leaving NXT anytime soon, as he's now NXT Champion.

Aleister Black & Ricochet are basically confirmed to be done with NXT at this point, but what's interesting is that all the call-ups have generally appeared on both brands, not being specifically assigned yet.

As Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter stated, it seems as though all of them will finally be assigned specific brands after WrestleMania. This is a good thing because it prevents chances of back and forth booking and it also gives the superstars the stability that they need at this point in time.

#3. Little change in the tag team division

The Usos reign supreme
The Usos reign supreme

At WrestleMania 35, The Usos continued to establish their dominance as a tag team, finally getting a well-deserved win at the grandest stage of them all. It's crazy to think that this is only their second main card match ever, but they certainly deserve to be on top of the mountain where they stand.

However, one thing that's clear is that the direction won't be changing with the tag team division any time soon. Sure, some fresh blood has been injected in the form of Aleister Black & Ricochet, but overall, the tag team division is essentially going to stay the same.

However, one can only hope that the tag team division eventually balances itself out after the superstar shake-up. The RAW Tag Team division is in desperate need for change and more NXT call-ups and good trades is the way to do that. SmackDown still has a lot of good tag teams.

#2. Seth Rollins to potentially move to SmackDown

Is Seth Rollins' future on SmackDown Live??
Is Seth Rollins' future on SmackDown Live??

It's been a long time coming since World champions needed to change brands. Seth Rollins to SmackDown and AJ Styles to RAW has always seemed like the inevitable trade, but for whatever reason, WWE decided that Styles was more suitable to SmackDown while Rollins was to RAW.

With Seth Rollins officially winning the Universal Championship, it's not only the first time in nearly three years that he's winning a World Championship, but it also means that a big change could be coming.

The SmackDown move to FOX this October is set to be a major game changer and while Roman Reigns would be the obvious pick for WWE to chose to move to SmackDown, we may very well see Rollins jump to the blue brand while Kofi Kingston jumps over to RAW.

It would be a fresh change and Rollins feels like he's long overdue for a brand switch. It would certainly help him get fresher opponents.

#1. The official end of the part-timer era

Brock Lesnar suffered a humiliating defeat

There was a notable absence of part-timers on the WrestleMania 35 card. Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle, Triple H and Batista were the only ones who competed, while John Cena made a special appearance as the Doctor of Thuganomics

Brock Lesnar was handily defeated in the opener and with rumours whirling about that he's set to fight Daniel Cormier for the UFC Heavyweight Championship at UFC 240 or 241, it seems like he's most definitely on his way out.

With The Undertaker only appearing at Saudi Arabia shows, Triple H likely taking rest till next year and Kurt Angle and Batista officially retired (Yes, Batista announced his retirement after the show), it clearly seems that the part-timer era is over. No longer will we see them dominate such big spots and from here on out, it's all on the full-timers as it should have been anyway.
