Eddie Guerrero is one of the greatest entertainers ever to step foot in the squared circle. His infectious personality and in-ring abilities were second to none. He was adored by the WWE Universe.

Tragically, Eddie passed away in 2005. There was a plethora of opponents he did not get to face. Imagine the incredible match-ups he could have had if he was still performing, especially with the current talented roster.

That being said, let's look at five dream matches Eddie Guerrero could have had in WWE.

#5 Eddie Guerrero vs. Dominik Mysterio

This one pretty much writes itself. Following on from the infamous Custody of Dominik ladder match at SummerSlam 2005, Dominik Mysterio could seek answers. Dominik is now an active performer, and he and Eddie Guerrero could've settled their animosity in the ring.

There are plenty of directions the feud could go in, but that match itself would continue the legacy of the Lucha Libre feud between Mysterio and Guerrero. It would be a Mentor vs. Tutor type match, but with the story of 2005 looming, it would be an intense affair.

Even though Dominik was only 8-years old at the time of the SummerSlam 2005 match, he still remembers Eddie Guerrero fondly:

"He was just such a good guy, you know? Seeing him with my dad, they were best friends. And I remember in between takes that we would do of vignettes, he would give me Twizzlers, Red Vines, Lemonheads, bunch of candy. I wish he was there that day [to see my debut]... We miss him, we love him. He’s one of the greatest of all time," Dominik Mysterio said. (h/t Wrestling-Edge)

Rey Mysterio would also have a role to play as he would become embroiled in the war between his son and one of his best friends. Maybe he could've even been the Special Guest Referee to add more drama. The possibilities would be endless.

Some of the best storylines in WWE have been those that blur the line between fiction and reality. This continuing story would take it to another level.

#4 Eddie Guerrero vs. Finn Balor

How lucky would we have been if we had gotten to see Eddie Guerrero vs. Finn Balor in a WWE ring? In fact, it would have been the first-time ever match between those two anywhere in the world.

Finn Balor has come up with a whole host of different wrestling styles that he has picked up during his time performing all over the world. Eddie Guerrero, of course, with his Lucha Libre heritage, knows how to get the job done, even if he has to lie, cheat and steal his way to victory.

As a heel, Eddie Guerrero could be infuriated that someone like Finn Balor is trying to take his spot. He could try and teach Balor a lesson, before Balor brings out the 'Demon' to face Eddie in a main-event worthy contest.

The match will be considered a dream match, even for long-time wrestling fans who want to see Finn Balor pitted against the best. It is right up there with some of the matches we will clamor to see if Eddie and Finn were on the same roster.

When you pit two of the best ever together in the ring, you're only going to get magic. The Coup de Grace vs. the Frog Splash, and whoever would've hit it first from the top rope would've no doubt been the victor and gotten his hands raised.

#3 Eddie Guerrero vs. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins was no doubt inspired by Eddie Guerrero growing up. Rollins even adopted the patented Frog Splash as one of his own moves. The man now known for the finest drips we've ever seen on SmackDown has a little recent history that Eddie may not be too happy with.

In 2020, Rollins feuded with the Mysterio's and at one point extracted Rey Mysterio's eye from his eye socket. Yes, that really did happen. Of course, Eddie watching on from heaven would be livid. Seeing one of his closest friends treated this way could have perfectly set up a blockbuster revenge match.

Rollins' fast-paced wrestling style would be a perfect match for Eddie Guerrero, and they would no doubt put on a classic. It would be a show-stealing match on any card. We can already see Rollins trying some underhanded tactics on 'Latino Heat' before Eddie fights back with his own lying, cheating, and stealing.

#2 Eddie Guerrero vs. Randy Orton

Remember just after Eddie Guerrero sadly passed, and Randy Orton used his passing in a storyline against Rey Mysterio? Yeah, that wasn't cool. A match between Eddie and Orton would be a heated collision, but one that would be considered WrestleMania worthy.

Randy Orton is WWE's Mr Consistent, and has been for the past two decades. It is surprising that Orton and Eddie Guerrero never really crossed paths during their time on the same roster, with only a handful of tag team matches.

Orton's comment about 'Eddie being in hell' just after Guerrero's passing really struck a cord with the WWE Universe. Orton revealed it was one of the most uncomfortable moments of his WWE career:

"Rey assured me that it’s something that Eddie would have wanted. Even still, Rey and myself went to Vickie, and Vickie gave us her blessing. She said the same thing, 'Eddie would have wanted to help you guys in this manner. If he could have used his death in some way to help the business, as morbid as that sounds, he would have wanted us to do it, especially with Rey being involved. So, although it was a horrible tragedy, and we all lost a friend, it was something that helped me along the way in my career." Randy Orton said. (h/t Give Me Sport)

#1 Eddie Guerrero vs. AJ Styles

It was a dream match that we so wanted to tick off. Eddie Guerrero vs. AJ Styles would have been an instant classic. It would have been a wrestling match ride that we would never forget.

At the time of Eddie's passing, AJ Styles was making a name for himself in IMPACT Wrestling. There was never an opportunity for the two to cross paths. It would have torn the house down from any venue it was contested in.

AJ Styles revealed on a Twitch stream that Eddie Guerrero would have been his 'dream' match:

"Eddie Guerrero - I think it would be fun to wrestle him. I think that would have been fun to see how these guys do it, and see if it's the same. And I feel like, at this point in my career, it would probably be pretty close to the same kinds of things they were thinking. The great thing about those guys is that they were able to work really good guys a lot. You're talking about Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit? They were already wrestling in Japan before they ever made it to WCW and went to the WWE. So, they had access to top talent right from the get go." (H/T Wrestling Inc)

Eddie Guerrero vs. AJ Styles will make headlines and will no doubt be off the scale when it comes to any match ratings. If only we could rewind back to 2004/2005 and put them in the same company.
