5 Feuds Involving The Undertaker We Never Witnessed

The Undertaker has done a lot throughout his extraordinary career.
The Undertaker has done a lot throughout his extraordinary career.

The Undertaker has been with the WWE since 1990 when he debuted dominantly at Survivor Series of that year. He was a surprise addition to the Million Dollar Man's team and he ran roughshod over the likes of Bret Hart, Jim Neidhart, Koko B. Ware and Dusty Rhodes.

Since he's been a WWE staple for almost 30 years, he's feuded and fought a lot of the bigger names in wrestling history.

Names like Hulk Hogan, The Rock, Batista, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Ric Flair, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar all crossed paths with the Deadman at one point during his illustrious career.

Due to politics or other factors, he didn't get to fight everyone who us fans may have liked to see him battle.

He was still active in the early 2000s when guys like Samoa Joe and AJ Styles were just starting out, but WWE didn't see fit to sign them until the last four years.

We can't always get every dream match we may want but here are at least five big feuds for the Undertaker that we never got to see.

Aleister Black

The Dutch Destroyer would have been a good rival for the Undertaker had they crossed paths earlier in Taker's career.
The Dutch Destroyer would have been a good rival for the Undertaker had they crossed paths earlier in Taker's career.

The reason why Aleister Black is among the feuds I would have like to see for the Undertaker is because of their occult connection.

Few superstars did the 'undead' or 'supernatural' gimmick better than the Phenom but in today's age of realism, Black pulls it off well.

He isn't straight up saying 'I used to be dead' or 'I am an emissary from beyond' but he does have a dark aura that is somewhat reminiscent of the Undertaker.

Black's entrance sees him rise from the stage as he lies down like a vampire. He's also shrouded in smoke once his theme song hits.

Both men are renowned for their striking so that could have been a big part of any match since it would take both men a combined 15 minutes just to make it to the ring.

Supernatural characters are hard to do today but guys like Bray Wyatt and Black have worked when booked properly. Too bad we likely won't get to see these two shown down in clouds of smoke.

Samoa Joe

Had Samoa Joe been signed earlier by WWE, he could have easily feuded with the Undertaker.
Had Samoa Joe been signed earlier by WWE, he could have easily feuded with the Undertaker.

This one is more of a personal preference, but Samoa Joe seems like the kind of superstar who could feud with anyone.

He's so talented for a man of his size and he's great on the mic. Any potential match would have seen Joe carry the action.

It would have been easy to book because Joe has constantly shown that he isn't afraid of anyone from Brock Lesnar to Seth Rollins to Roman Reigns.

Joe has been under-booked for most of his main-roster run as he's usually been a main-event foil for the likes of AJ Styles, Reigns and Brock Lesnar.

But since he's so athletic anyways, it would have been fun to see Joe take on someone so much bigger than he is.

The whole 'disappear and reappear once the lights go out' would likely have spooked Joe, but had he been signed earlier by WWE than he could have easily faced the Undertaker at a PPV.

AJ Styles

The Phenomenal One could have carried the action against the Undertaker.
The Phenomenal One could have carried the action against the Undertaker.

Like Samoa Joe, AJ Styles could have easily squared off with the Deadman had WWE decided to sign him a decade ago.

But due to their previous bias against superstars from the former TNA, Styles only joined the WWE in 2016.

The Undertaker was still technically active for WrestleMania matches, but WWE wanted some of his final matches to be against John Cena, Reigns and the likes of DX.

Styles could have easily carried the Undertaker to a great match as he's done so against the likes of Brock Lesnar and Samoa Joe over the years. While it wasn't a necessarily great match, he also carried the action against Shane McMahon.

He's a big-enough name in the business and it would have made sense to have Styles challenge or be challenged by the Undertaker at some point.

I'd rather have seen Styles face the Undertaker instead of someone like Cena, Reigns, Shane McMahon or Brock Lesnar, but he wasn't considered a big enough star when most of those matches went down.

Finn Balor

The Demon vs. the Phenom? Sign me up.
The Demon vs. the Phenom? Sign me up.

Similar to Aleister Black, this would have been a great match that would have seen two characters with supernatural overtones that could have been a true spectacle at WrestleMania.

Balor has been around a little longer on the main roster than Styles, so since he was known to bring out the Demon on special occasions, this could have easily happened at some point over the last five years.

If they didn't deem it worthy of a 'Mania spotlight, then it could have easily been a match for SummerSlam or another big PPV during the year.

It would have even been a good match at a potential PPV in the United Kingdom if they wanted to really pop the audience.

But Balor isn't one of the favorites of Mr. McMahon, hence his constant failure in big-stakes matches after he got hurt winning the Universal Championship.

It's a shame because it would practically write itself, but WWE hasn't always run with easy things the fans want when they have looked them right in the face.

Sting

The Icon almost battled the Deadman when Sting joined WWE a few years back.
The Icon almost battled the Deadman when Sting joined WWE a few years back.

The main thing that stopped this from ever happening was the fact that Sting was reluctant to sign with the WWE.

He was synonymous with WCW and then Impact/TNA, but once TNA was going so far down the drain, he eventually caved in and signed up with WWE on a short-deal basis.

Since Triple H wanted to face him at WrestleMania and do the whole 'WWE vs. WCW' thing on a big stage, Sting didn't get to face the Undertaker.

It could have happened as a main-event at SummerSlam or another big PPV like Money in the Bank, but Sting was thrust into a program with Seth Rollins during his run with the Authority.

Unfortunately, during a match for the WWE Championship at Night of Champions, Rollins inadvertently injured the legend. It signaled the end of Sting's in-ring career.

But it wouldn't have been too hard to fit the match in during Sting's run since both men were icons of the same age for different companies.

Its disappointing for the fans because it would have been a huge match, instead it was another huge missed opportunity by the WWE.
