5 unique stats from the last decade of WrestleMania

We are only a few days away from the most peculiar WrestleMania since the inception of WWE's biggest event of the year. For the first time, the Showcase of the Immortal will be held with no audience in attendance. WrestleMania 36 will also be the first of its kind to be aired on tape delay -- and it will happen over the course of 2 days, which is also a first. Despite the extremely difficult situation WWE has found itself in, there are still some amazing matches on the card. These include a Last Man Standing match between Randy Orton and Edge -- the latter will be having his first one-on-one match in almost a decade, a Boneyard Match between AJ Styles and The Undertaker, a Firefly Fun House match between "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt and John Cena, and a WWE Championship bout between Brock Lesnar and the winner of the 2020 Men's Royal Rumble, Drew McIntyre.

While we are preparing ourselves for what is very likely to be the strangest WrestleMania ever, let us take a look at a few stats from WrestleManias in the last decade -- a simpler time in WWE history.

#5 Royal Rumble winners and WrestleMania main events

Before every Royal Rumble match, the ring announcer declares that the winner of the 30-man (or woman) battle royal will challenge for a World Championship of their choosing in the main event of that year's WrestleMania. In the last decade (2010 through 2019), there have been 12 Royal Rumble winners. The list begins with Edge in 2010 and ends with Seth Rollins in 2019. Only 5 of those WWE Superstars went on to perform in the final match of that year's WrestleMania, ostensibly the "main event". Those Superstars were John Cena in 2013 (vs. The Rock), Batista in 2014 (vs. Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan), Roman Reigns in 2015 (vs. Brock Lesnar), Triple H in 2016 (vs. Roman Reigns), and Becky Lynch in 2019 (vs. Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey).

The other 7 winners of the Royal Rumble received their World Title opportunity at some point earlier on in the show. In fact, 3 Royal Rumble victors actually kicked off that year's WrestleMania. Alberto Del Rio in 2011 (vs. Edge), Sheamus in 2012 (vs. Daniel Bryan), and Seth Rollins in 2019 (vs. Brock Lesnar).

#4 Daniel Bryan has never successfully defended a singles title

Daniel Bryan is one of the best wrestlers in WWE today, and arguably one of the best in history. The man formerl known as the "American Dragon" has achieved a lot during his 10 years in WWE. However, even with all of his accolades, there's one thing Bryan has never done. "The Planet's Champion" has never successfully defended a singles title at WrestleMania.

Bryan's first singles title defense at the Showcase of the Immortals was at WrestleMania 28, where he defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Sheamus, who won the 2012 Royal Rumble. Bryan wound up losing to Sheamus in just 18 seconds. Thankfully for the "Yes Man", this loss played a huge role in pushing him higher and higher in the company, and only 2 years later he had the last laugh as he stood tall at the end of WrestleMania XXX as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

At WrestleMania 35, Bryan was unsuccessful in his attempt to defend the WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston in what was arguably the best match of the night.

On the other hand, Bryan has never lost in any of his challenges for a singles title. While he didn't win the United States Championship at WrestleMania 27, his match with then-champion Sheamus went to a no contest. At WrestleMania XXX, as mentioned above, Bryan became the face of one of the most iconic moments in WWE history when he defeated Randy Orton and Batista in the main event to capture the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The following year, at WrestleMania 31, Bryan captured the Intercontinental Title in a 7-man ladder match.

#3 Bray Wyatt has never won a match at WrestleMania

Can The Fiend snap Bray Wyatt's WrestleMania losing streak?

Bray Wyatt made his WWE debut in 2013 as the enigmatic leader of The Wyatt Family. The cult-like group's vignettes that led up to their debut were intriguing and showed a lot of promise. From the very start, the trio of Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, and Erick Rowan was pegged to be a big deal. The "Eater of the Worlds" and his disciples even scored a clean victory over The Shield - one of the most protected factions in WWE history - at Elimination Chamber 2014.

Less than one year into his run on the main roster, Wyatt was inserted into a program with John Cena, which led to a match at WrestleMania XXX. The feud was brilliant, and 6 years later it actually plays a pivotal role in the build to their much anticipated rematch, which will take place this weekend. Sadly for Wyatt and his many fans, he was unable to score a victory over Cena at the 30th edition of WrestleMania.

The following year Bray Wyatt had an even bigger obstacle thrown in his path in the form of The Undertaker. Wyatt carried the entire program on his back, as Undertaker made very few appearances on the road to WrestleMania 31. When it was all said and done, Wyatt, who was proclaiming himself to be "The New Face of Fear", was handed his second WrestleMania loss, thus landing at 0-2 at the biggest show of the year.

At WrestleMania 32, The Rock and John Cena made a mockery of the Wyatt Family. Bray himself wasn't in the match, but it only took The Rock 6 seconds to defeat Wyatt Family member Erick Rowman in an impromptu contest.

After that debacle, it seemed as though WWE had realized the mistake they were making by not capitalizing on the popularity of Bray Wyatt. Because of this, the re-energized Wyatt found great success between October 2016 and February 2017. He secured a win over Randy Orton at No Mercy and went on to lead Team SmackDown to victory at Survivor Series, with himself and Randy Orton being the survivors, defeating Team RAW. He, Orton, and Luke Harper became SmackDown Tag Team Champions as the "new" Wyatt Family near the end of 2016. Then came his crowning achievement. One month before WrestleMania 33, Wyatt would win an Elmination Chamber match to capture his first WWE Championship.

At said WrestleMania, however Randy Orton, no longer part of Bray's "family". would take the title from his former stablemate, ending a very short championship reign in a match that many people found to be very disappointing. That's 3 matches at WrestleMania, and 3 losses.

The following year at WrestleMania 34, Wyatt wasn't booked for a match, although he did help his enemy-turned-friend Matt Hardy win the pre-show battle royal. Bray was not an active member of the roster last year, so he missed WrestleManis 35.

If The Fiend is able to beat John Cena at WrestleMania 36, not only would it avenge his first-ever WrestleMania loss, but it would mark the first win for Bray Wyatt at The Show of Shows.

#2 Triple H is the only WWE Superstar to participate in a marquee match at every WrestleMania in the last 10 years

There are only 2 Superstars who have appeared on the WrestleMania card from 'Mania 26 straight through to 'Mania 35. Those men are The Miz and Triple H. However, due to the fact that Miz wrestled on the the kick-off shows at both WrestleMania 29 and WrestleMania 31, Triple H is technically the only WWE Superstar who has wrestled on the main card of every WrestleMania in the last decade.

"The Game" started the decade with a win over Sheamus at WrestleMania 26. However, his next two ventures were against The Undertaker, who he faced at back-to-back events. They westled in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 27 and a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania 28. Triple H failed on both occasions and was unable to break The Phenom's legendary streak. He would go on to defeat Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 29 in a gruesome match.

At WrestleMania XXX, Triple H and Daniel Bryan faced off in the opening match of the night. The victor would earn the right to be part of the main event, which was set to be a triple threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Triple H lost to Bryan, who would go on to participate in the main event against Randy Orton and Batista and subsequently win the championship.

Triple H defeated Sting at WrestleMania 31, handing the WCW Icon a loss in his debut match inside a WWE ring. "The King of Kings" would then go on to lose 3 years in a row. Roman Reigns t and Seth Rollins defeated Triple H at WrestleMania 32 and 33 respectively. Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle would team up to defeat Triple H and Stephanie McMahon at WrestleMania 34. Triple H defeated Batista at WrestleMania 35 to end Batista's WWE career.

#1 Seth Rollins has scored a victory at every WrestleMania he has competed

Seth Rollins pulled the
Seth Rollins pulled the "Heist of the Century" at WrestleMania 31.

Seth Rollins has competed in 6 WrestleMania events to date. He made his debut at the Showcase of the Immortals as a member of The Shield, defeating Randy Orton, Sheamus, and Big Show in a 6-man tag team match at WrestleMania 29. At WrestleMania XXX, The Shield emerged victorious in another 6-man tag, this time against The New Age Outlaws and Kane.

At WrestleMania 31, "The Architect" lost to Randy Orton in his scheduled match for the show. Little did we know, however, that Rollins' night wasn't over yet. During the WWE Championship bout between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns, Rollins cashed in his money in the bank contract to insert himself into the main event. Rollins pinned Reigns to "steal" Lesnar's title and score a win at WrestleMania 31.

Due to an injury, Rollins could not compete at WrestleMania 32, but at WrestleMania 33 Rollins made his return with a win over his former mentor, Triple H. Seth would go on to defeat The Miz and Finn Balor in a show-stealing triple threat match to win the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34. Last year, at WrestleMania 35, Rollins became the "Beast Slayer" when he defeated Brock Lesnar to win the Universal Championship.

Thus, Rollins has scored a victory in every WrestleMania he competed in so far. Can Kevin Owens snap Rollins' streak of good fortune at WrestleMania 36 this weekend?
