5 matches Vince McMahon doesn't want to happen at WrestleMania 35

It's the biggest time of the year approaching. WrestleMania season is always the most exciting period of the year. Casual fans come flocking back for a few months to see what WWE has planned for the grandest stage of them all.

This year alone, barring any injuries of sorts, we may very well get one of the best cards in years. However, WrestleMania 34 itself had a very solid card and delivered, with the exception of a few matches.

There are going to be a lot of interesting bouts, and with Roman Reigns not present, this means that his WrestleMania main event streak will end. However, we could see history as women main event the grand stage for the first time in history.

Either way, things are going to be interesting and it's a vital WrestleMania because it will determine the direction of the company for the next year or two at least. We've witnessed WrestleMania's that have had zero consequence even a couple of months afterwards (like 32 in 2016), but this one is most definitely going to be different.

Without going much further, let's take a look at five matches Vince McMahon doesn't want to happen at WrestleMania 35.

#5 The Undertaker vs John Cena

Now, this is something that we can agree with! After John Cena's bizarre match with The Undertaker last year, you would think that it was done to revisit it a year later, but from the look of things, that's not the case.

In fact, word is that The Undertaker doesn't even have a match at all. While it's odd to think of WrestleMania and no Undertaker, he's clearly past his prime and the card will be good enough where it can do without him.

However, one does wonder what The Undertaker's endgame really is. When is he retiring?

#4 Andrade vs Rey Mysterio

We've seen just how well Andrade and Rey Mysterio can go in the ring. The fact that Mysterio looks better than ever after decades in the ring just goes to show how great he is. With that said, he was the top Latino star in WWE in the past, while Andrade is being primed to be the next big Latino star.

This would require Mysterio to pass the torch to Andrade, something which he'll be more than happy to do. If you thought that Mysterio and Andrade had great matches on SmackDown Live, then you'll be in for a shock as to what they can do at the grandest stage of them all.

They would steal the show and there's no questions about it. However, the direction seems to be pointing at Mysterio and Andrade teaming together for the near future. With that said, we may have to wait another year to get the match at WrestleMania. When it does happen, it'll be exciting beyond belief!

#3 Braun Strowman vs Drew McIntyre

Wouldn't this be a great battle between two hosses? Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman never really got to have the payoff for their faction break-up, but given that we're not sure what their direction for WrestleMania 35 is, it would make sense to put them up against each other.

Both are well-established stars and WWE is looking to build McIntyre up to a main event level in 2019. What better way than by being only the third man to pin Braun Strowman?

However, WWE will want to protect both, and as a result, they may not be anywhere near each other come WrestleMania time. If Lars Sullivan doesn't work out, the possibility is that Drew McIntyre could be the one to face John Cena.

Either way, if that happens, McIntyre would benefit greatly, as he would definitely go over Cena. What's the plan for Braun Strowman? We have no idea!

#2 Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte Flair

This was definitely the originally planned WrestleMania 35 main event. And it would be a great one too. However, from the look of things, it's either going to be Becky Lynch vs Ronda Rousey, or more likely - a triple threat featuring Charlotte Flair as well.

Becky Lynch was supposed to face Rousey at Survivor Series in a Champion vs Champion match. However, a concussion caused by Nia Jax led Becky Lynch to be pulled from the match. She would gain more momentum than ever, so much so that losing her SmackDown Women's Championship didn't even affect her too much.

With that said, it looks like Rousey vs Charlotte has been canned, and Vince McMahon can clearly see that Becky Lynch is the one who took the ball and ran with it. If it is a triple threat match, expect The Man to pick up the win at the end.

#1 Seth Rollins vs Finn Balor

It's a different time from when Finn Balor and Seth Rollins last had their high-profile SummerSlam match. Back then, Balor was the new star in town, and Rollins was still a heel, just a few months returning from his devastating injury.

Now, Balor is finally challenging for the Universal Championship at the Royal Rumble against Brock Lesnar, but the fact of the matter is that Lesnar will retain. If Finn Balor would be the Demon King, there would be a chance, but he won't be, and that's the right decision if he's losing.

Moreover, it's clear that the direction is for Seth Rollins to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania for the Universal Championship. Most likely, he's going to win and succeed Roman Reigns as The Guy in WWE for the next year or two, perhaps.

Where that leaves Balor, we're not sure, but hopefully, he ends up getting a big match on the grandest stage of them all.
