5 More Free Agents that AEW Should sign to become the best roster in Wrestling

All Elite Wrestling is the hottest promotion in wrestling right now, despite being days away from their first ever show, and there are plenty of positives regarding Tony Khan's wrestling company right now. One of those big ones (and perhaps the most important in today's wrestling climate) is the roster that they've assembled, and while we've got the obvious ones (The Elite, Best Friends, SCU), there are some great new stars that have become Elite already.

While they've expressed a desire to keep the roster minimal while also signing some promising young stars, there's room on the AEW roster for a few more performers to give them depth and even more variety. Today, we are going to take a look at the independent wrestling landscape and analyse 5 wrestling Free Agents that AEW should definitely take a look at to complete their already talented, stacked roster.

#5 Meiko Satomura

Meiko Satomo
Meiko Satomura

For years now, Meiko Satomura has been considered the 'Final Boss' in Japan, but it would be amazing for her legendary career if she were to come to AEW and put together a great run in their new women's division. Casual fans would recognise Satomura from her run to the semi-final in the second Mae Young Classic, and if she were given free rein to be herself in AEW, she'd be one of the biggest stars in the company.

Meiko is into her 40's now, so it wouldn't be a long run, but with promising young stars like Baker, Rose, Rae and Priestly on the roster, she'd do a lot to help build up what looks to be a very fun division. This is probably the most unlikely to happen, but given the 6-women tag that's taking place on the show and the companies top stars having ties to Japan, it would be great to see, and if it happens, it will be hard to deny that AEW is legit competition for WWE.

#4 Jon Moxley

Dean Ambrose
Dean Ambrose

Dean Ambrose made himself into one of the biggest wrestling stars in the world in WWE, and now that he's walked away, signing with AEW would be a big splash for the start-up company that is yet to host a show. This has been the rumour since Ambrose's contract in WWE was announced to be ending, and while it wouldn't be the biggest shock to see him show up May 25 at the MGM Grand, it would send a message that All Elite Wrestling is here to stay.

When he was Moxley before making it to WWE, he was one of the best deathmatch wrestlers in the United States, and if he can combine some of that with the experienced he gained from WWE, he'll be one of their top stars. AEW has made it clear they don't want all of WWE's scraps, but Moxley is still in his prime, and with the chip on his shoulder from poor booking in WWE, he'll propel this company to the top of the world.

#3 Joey Ryan

Joey Ryan
Joey Ryan

This one is the most obvious on the list, as Joey Ryan is great friends with everyone involved in AEW, but he would indeed add another layer to the roster that AEW has already assembled. While his penis gimmick is certainly divisive amongst wrestling fans, there's no doubting that he's talented, creative and charismatic, and if AEW can find a fine line between raunchy and entertaining, he'll be key for them.

Joey's appearance at All In resulted in one of the biggest pops of the night, and it's clear that they're ready to tell great stories for The King of Dong Style, and while this may turn a lot of people off AEW, he's got plenty of potential. Being the Elite has been running a story surrounding Joey for quite some time now, so this will likely come at Double or Nothing, and adding Joey to the roster gives them more depth in their mid-card, which is an area they certainly need help in.

#2 Aussie Open

Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis
Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis

AEW currently have a stacked tag team division, but they're all familiar opponents, and if they want to inject new blood into the division, then Australia's Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis make perfect sense. They are currently Champions of three UK promotions (wXw, Progress & Rev Pro), and if they do indeed want to break into the UK market as rumours suggest, getting these guys on board would be a great step.

They are the classic big-guy/small-guy combination, and they combine great personality with incredible chemistry, and over the past year, they've grown together to become the best tag team in Europe. It's only a matter of time until some big promotion snatches them up, as they are ready-made to be on TV and seeing them matched up against the likes of The Young Bucks, Lucha Bros, Best Friends and others will truly put them on the map.

#1 David Starr

David Starr
David Starr

Right now, it's highly unlikely that David Starr would sign with a big company, but in terms of independent wrestling talent, we believe that there's no one better out there right now. The Cream in your Coffee, The Product, The Best of the Best, take your pick of his nicknames, but whichever one you choose, there's no debating that Starr has become the most versatile and entertaining wrestler on the indies today.

Whether he's Davey Deathmatch or the charismatic babyface he usually portrays on the UK pro wrestling scene, Starr has an ability like few others to engage the crowd before, during and after his matches. AEW is looking for elite talent, and there's no one more elite in the world today than Starr, and after his victory in Progress' Super Strong Style 16 tournament, he's proven that he's ready for the big stage, and AEW makes complete sense.
