5 opponents for Brock Lesnar after winning the WWE Championship at Day 1

Brock Lesnar is the new WWE Champion.
Brock Lesnar is the new WWE Champion.

It happened - Brock Lesnar is once again the WWE Champion after defeating four other Superstars at Day 1. This wasn't a possibility even a few hours before the pay-per-view, with The Beast Incarnate initially scheduled to face Roman Reigns.

However, due to The Tribal Chief testing positive for COVID-19, WWE had to find another spot for Lesnar at Day 1. The other world title match was the right option. We got an explosive main event as a result with zero rest time during its entirety. Now that Brock Lesnar has the WWE Championship, what happens next?

Following this last-minute decision, it remains to be seen how Vince McMahon will book Lesnar's 6th WWE Title reign. Several superstars on RAW will want a crack at the former UFC megastar. A world of intrigue will fall on the red brand as we head into Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season.

Here are five potential opponents for Brock Lesnar after his shocking WWE Championship win at Day 1. Who do you want to see dethrone The Beast Incarnate? Comment down with your pick.

#5 Roman Reigns can face Brock Lesnar in a title-for-title match after missing WWE Day 1

WWE reportedly had big plans for Roman Reigns, Brock Lesnar, and Paul Heyman at Day 1. Unfortunately, this did not come to fruition. It remains to be seen if Reigns and Lesnar will continue their feud now that The Beast Incarnate is the WWE Champion.

The two could yet main event WrestleMania 38, potentially in a world title unification match. Reigns and Lesnar can put their respective belts on the line, with the winner being crowned the undisputed WWE World Champion. This is a possibility if Vince McMahon is looking to end the brand split.

This concept can be incorporated into the two-night format of WrestleMania. Both Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar could defend their titles on Night One, before facing each other in the main event of Night Two.

This would be an ill-advised move, though, as WWE needs to build other stars to Reigns and Lesnar's level. If the two do face each other at The Show of Shows, it should come after The Beast Incarnate loses the WWE Championship.

But which RAW Superstars can Brock Lesnar face in the interim? Let's take a look his options post-Day 1.

#4 Big E will want revenge after losing the WWE Title at Day 1

Big E was seemingly planned to retain the WWE Championship at Day 1 before Brock Lesnar was added to the match. Fans of the New Day member were rightfully disappointed at the outcome, but there may yet be hope.

If WWE has Big E's path to WrestleMania mapped out, chances are he will regain the WWE Championship from The Beast Incarnate. The rematch could potentially happen at Royal Rumble, depending on how Day 1 affected the promotion's plans for The Show of Shows.

It would be incredible to see Big E defeat Brock Lesnar to win his second WWE Title, avenging his and Kofi Kingston's losses to the megastar in the process. If he and Lesnar have a singles match, the younger star has to win.

#3 AJ Styles can face Brock Lesnar in a Survivor Series 2017 rematch

If Brock Lesnar's WWE Championship reign lasts from Day 1 to WrestleMania. Big E shouldn't be fed to Lesnar. But there are a couple of interesting options. One of them is AJ Styles, who had a brilliant match with The Beast Incarnate at Survivor Series 2017.

The Phenomenal One is once again a babyface after getting dumped by Omos. This would be a great match for Brock Lesnar, although it would be quite predictable. Besides, Styles is currently busy with a program on NXT 2.0 against Grayson Waller.

Between him and Omos, it seems like the two-time WWE Champion will be tasked with putting over younger talent from now on. AJ Styles should get one last hurrah in the main event scene, though.

#2 Omos vs. Brock Lesnar would be a spectacle

The other side of the AJ Styles-Omos split, the 7-foot star could challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship following Day 1. He may have a higher chance of facing The Beast Incarnate this year, especially with his expected win over The Phenomenal One coming soon.

Omos and Lesnar is an interesting match-up, with it being a rare occurrence where the WWE Champion is overshadowed in stature. The two can have a hard-hitting brawl. The story can revolve around Brock Lesnar attempting to take Omos down.

WWE can book this match at the next Saudi Arabian event, which will likely be in February. However, would it be wise to hand the Nigerian giant his first pinfall loss so soon?

#1 Bobby Lashley has a claim for a WWE Title match after Day 1

Here it is. The one match everybody wants to see from this Brock Lesnar WWE Championship reign. He and Bobby Lashley briefly shared the ring at Day 1, with The All Mighty getting the better of the Beast Incarnate.

He speared Lesnar through the barricade before hitting another one in the ring during the climax of the match. He even had The Beast Incarnate in the Hurt Lock, only being thwarted by a Big Ending from Big E.

WWE cameras focused on a distraught Bobby Lashley after Brock Lesnar's victory at Day 1. This might be a tease towards a singles clash between the two heavyweights.

Lashley vs. Lesnar would be perfect for WrestleMania 38 if WWE scraps the program with Roman Reigns. A match at Royal Rumble wouldn't be the worst idea too. Either way, WWE has to book the two of them against each other during Brock Lesnar's ninth world title reign in the promotion.
