5 reasons why the Greatest Royal Rumble will be better than WrestleMania 34

Jeddah, are you ready?
Jeddah, are you ready?

WrestleMania 34, the annual flagship show of WWE, was a massive event with more than 70,000 people attending from 60+ countries. The event was full of amazing matches with a few Superstars like Ronda Rousey and Seth Rollins putting on astounding performances. However, some matches could not live up to the mark, and thus the show received mixed reviews from both fans and critics.

WWE has partnered with Saudi Arabia and has organized The Greatest Royal Rumble event in Jeddah on April 27th. With a stacked match card, unexpected stipulations, and some huge names rumoured to return this Friday, the event might even surpass the reputation and value created by this year's WrestleMania.

Here are five reasons why The Greatest Royal Rumble might turn out to be better than WrestleMania 34.

#5 The casket match returns

Taker's comfort zone is here.
Taker's comfort zone is here

The Undertaker and Casket Matches go hand in hand. Taker has, unsurprisingly, participated in a lot of matches where he successfully locked his opponents up in caskets.

The Undertaker appeared at WrestleMania and beat John Cena in less than five minutes, which was not well received by the WWE Universe. After having successful hip surgery, Taker is fully fit and ready to go for another run in WWE, however small it may be.

WWE bringing the Casket Match back at the Greatest Royal Rumble Event is best for business, as it will be a huge crowd attraction and a great addition to Taker's already dangerous persona. The Deadman has not been a part of such a match since 2008, and fans would love to see him wreak havoc on Rusev.

#4 One of the best Face vs Heel rivalries in recent history

Will Nakamura finally win the gold?
Will Nakamura finally win the gold?

One match that underwhelmed at WrestleMania was the WWE Championship match between AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura. The fans were expecting a phenomenal performance from the two Superstars and were let down, as the contest could not match up to their previous engagement at Wrestle Kingdom 10.

The only saving grace was Nakamura turning heel after losing at the grandest stage. For the next three weeks, the villain in Nakamura has not shied away from beating down Styles and hitting him with cheap shots at every opportunity.

The dynamics have completely changed now, and the two will not back down from destroying each other. Being a potential five-star match, Styles and Nakamura will push one another to the limit, to fight for the most prestigious title in WWE.

#3 John Cena won't get squashed at least

The match barely lasted two minutes.
The match barely lasted two minutes.

John Cena is one of the most polarizing figures in the sports entertainment industry, and him getting squashed at the hands of The Undertaker in around two minutes at WrestleMania was a scenario nobody would have expected in their wildest dreams.

Cena is at the nadir of his career in his current run, with a string of losses to his name. A match with Triple H may be the perfect platform for him to get his mojo back. Whether Cena wins or not is a secondary issue, but a back and forth match should be the way ahead, to bring back the credibility Big Match John carries.

John Cena has been criticized many a time for not being a great in-ring worker. Now is the moment to prove the haters wrong and show that John Cena was and still is, the face that runs the place.

#2 A new Universal Champion may be crowned?

A steel cage ensures nobody would be safe.
A steel cage ensures that nobody will be safe

The main event of WrestleMania saw Brock Lesnar retaining his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in what was considered one of the most lethal beatdowns in the show's history. The crowd wasn't fully involved in the contest, which left the match high and dry.

The rematch has been set for Friday, and the added stipulation of a Steel Cage makes the match all the more exciting. Reigns is the favourite to win, considering the fact that he gets a more positive response from non-American fans. WWE may finally have Roman Reigns hold the coveted title and get appreciated in front of thousands of supporters. The win will also validate The Big Dog's stature as the face of the company.

It will be interesting to see how WWE goes ahead with the match, and who comes out on top when two of the strongest wrestlers collide inside a Steel Cage to battle it out for the Universal Title.

#1 A plethora of surprise entries

Who would make a return?
Who will make a return?

WrestleMania 34 failed to have the suspense of a returning Superstar, who would woo the crowd and make their jaws drop. The WWE Universe was expecting Braun Strowman's tag-team partner to be a returning performer who could have his WrestleMania moment, but a 10-year old fan Nicholas was eventually chosen as his partner.

With a 50-man Royal Rumble match scheduled for Friday, the fans can anticipate a plethora of huge names who may return to the company, either from an injury or a long hiatus. Legends like Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, and Mark Henry among others have already been announced.

Even after announcing a few names, the Royal Rumble match is the biggest in history and leaves an abundance of spots open for surprise entries. Don't be shocked if stars like Batista or Goldberg make an appearance during the match.
