The Undertaker versus The Fiend at WrestleMania 36.

It would be the ultimate dream match for The WWE Universe and would probably serve as one of the biggest passing of the torch moments in the company's history. Beyond that, it would be the perfect exclamation point on a year that was dominated by The Fiend and pave the way for the character's future.

If nothing else, there is so much on the line for The Fiend in the next couple months and the company has quite a few important decisions to make. They can either try to have their cake and eat it too by having Roman Reigns defeat The Fiend. Or play it safe and go for the defining moment of the decade.

With that being said and The Road to WrestleMania about to start, here are five reasons WWE must do The Fiend versus The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36. As always, let us know your thoughts in the comments below and be sure to tell us who you hope The Fiend faces at WrestleMania 36.

#5 Dream match

The Undertaker versus The Fiend would be a dream match of epic proportions.
The Undertaker versus The Fiend would be a dream match of epic proportions.

It's no secret that the WWE Universe is dying to see The Undertaker take on The Fiend, but the company is running out of chances to do so. In fact, with The Undertaker getting up there in age and having a laundry list of injuries, it's pretty safe to say that the company has a very limited window to have the match.

Seriously, what would be more interesting than watching The Undertaker take on The Fiend at a venue like WrestleMania? Furthermore, what would be more exhilarating than seeing two of the best paranormal gimmicks in WWE history battle it out?

If nothing else, this dream match would finally answer the question of who is more powerful. It would also be a huge passing of the torch moment for The Fiend, which would be a big step for his career and hopefully the beginning of The Fiend becoming the top star in the company.

#4 The Fiend's streak doesn't have to end

The Fiend's winning streak should be protected at all costs.
The Fiend's winning streak should be protected at all costs.

The Fiend's winning streak has to end sooner or later and while one would imagine it happening at WrestleMania, it doesn't necessarily have to. Beyond that, if The Fiend were to take on a WWE veteran and not an up and coming superstar, it could allow the company to make it a statement victory for the Universal Champion.

At least that way, WWE doesn't need to have The Fiend's streak end, they can use it to make the character a legendary figure and no one has to deal with the resentment of someone ending the streak. Just remember how badly Brock Lesnar was booed after ending The Undertaker's streak and you could see where that would be a problem.

With that being said, having The Fiend take on The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36 would do two very important things. The first is that it will allow for The Fiend and The Deadman to play off of their parlor gimmick in order to distract from Taker's limited move set. The second thing it will do is allow for Wyatt to have the passing of the torch moment he should have had years ago and not suffer a loss that could derail him.

Now, this doesn't mean that The Fiend's streak shouldn't end eventually, but not at WrestleMania. Furthermore, not when they have a chance to officially establish him as the biggest thing in the company. Keep in mind that opportunities like this don't always present themselves, which is why it needs to be capitalized on.

#3 Play up their history

Bray Wyatt and The Undertaker have a lot of history together.
Bray Wyatt and The Undertaker have a lot of history together.

Believe it or not, The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt have a history together and there might just be another chapter to be told there. Interestingly enough, WWE has been using Wyatt's history with other Superstars as justification for why he attacks them, which could end up paving the way for The Phenom and Wyatt to finally meet again.

In fact, why not have The Fiend outright try to goad The Undertaker into a match? Not only would it be a unique way to eventually bring the two Superstars together, but also allow The Fiend to play those mind games he does so well. Heck, The Fiend could even outright state that he wants to hurt Undertaker for what he did to him at WrestleMania 31.

In the end, the point is that these two need to meet inside the squared circle sometime soon. Fortunately for WWE, doing that could prove to be relatively easy due to the history the two Superstars have with each other and they should really explore that. Either that or disappoint fans with something less awesome than the dream match that would send everyone home happy, irrespective of the outcome.

#2 Chance to pass the torch

This would be a huge passing of the torch moment for The Fiend.
This would be a huge passing of the torch moment for The Fiend.

There are so many benefits to having The Undertaker face The Fiend, but one of the biggest ones is the fact that it could act as a passing of the torch moment. In fact, between The Undertaker's history at WrestleMania, and The Fiend needing a career-defining win to cement himself, the character absolutely needs this match.

Think about it! What would be bigger than The Fiend defeating The Undertaker at WrestleMania 36? The answer to that is absolutely nothing and everyone in The WWE Universe knows that. What they also know is that having The Fiend defeat The Undertaker would do a lot for the future of the character.

Sure, WWE can go with Roman Reigns or someone else defeating The Fiend at WrestleMania, but it's only going to take away one of the key parts of the character. Now that doesn't mean The Fiend's streak should last forever, but ending it in such a bitter sweet way is beyond distasteful.

If nothing else, The Undertaker is the defacto last test for The Fiend and his paranormal powers. He is the one person that The Fiend could beat clean and everyone's jaws would drop. That would prove The Fiend is for real. That would prove The Fiend is here to stay and that would finally prove that he is the new face of fear.

#1 Not Roman Reigns

At least it's not Roman Reigns.
At least it's not Roman Reigns.

While Roman Reigns is one of the most popular superstars on the entire roster, there is still no doubt that a portion of the audience resents him. Maybe that has to do with how he was pushed by management before his leukemia diagnosis, but WWE doesn't need to make this situation any worse.

With that being said, WWE needs to avoid putting Reigns in the title picture at all costs or risk building up that same feeling of resentment. Seriously though, if WWE were to have Roman Reigns face The Fiend at WrestleMania 36 and be the one to end the streak, he will again go back to being despised.

That's why WWE needs to have The Fiend face The Undertaker and keep the streak going past WrestleMania 36. At least that way, WWE can protect The Fiend's streak heading into the summer months, The Undertaker can retire with dignity and Roman Reigns lives on to fight another day.

In the end, WWE has two choices. Book Roman Reigns to defeat The Fiend at WrestleMania and risk building up that resentment factor. Or go the safe route and allow the torch to be passed in a meaningful way.
