5 Superstars who could interrupt Brock Lensar and Paul Heyman on RAW this week

Who will dare to step up to The Beast on RAW?

The first episode of RAW this year will kick off with a rare appearance from ‘The Beast’ Brock Lesnar. WWE announced his appearance a week in advance and we can expect Paul Heyman to come out with him to talk to the WWE Universe.

In the press release, the company stated the following:

What will The Conqueror and Paul Heyman have in store for the new year? And will any Superstar dare put their future in jeopardy by stepping in his path?

With this statement, it seems like the company will book someone to come out and interrupt The Beast & The Humble Advocate, possibly laying down a challenge for Lesnar’s title at Royal Rumble.

In this article, we'll look at 5 Superstars who could dare to put their futures in jeopardy by coming out and standing up to The Beast Incarnate.

#5 Mojo Rawley with Sami Zayn

Will Sami Zayn land Mojo Rawley in trouble again?

The loudmouth of WWE has landed himself and many Superstars around him in trouble several times. Now that he has a managerial license in WWE which allows him to appear on both RAW and SmackDown, he’s managing several Superstars but getting them in trouble frequently.

On RAW, we’ve seen Sami Zayn try to build up Mojo Rawley and even made him stand up to the great Kevin Owens.

However, Rawley has eaten a few Stunners thanks to Zayn, and it’s possible that his misery isn’t over yet.

With Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman set to appear on RAW this week, we could watch Heyman declare himself the best manager and Lesnar the best Superstar of all time. This could bring out The Critic of Critics who could claim that he is indeed the best manager of all time and Rawley is the best Superstar.

His statements could land both himself and Rawley in major trouble, and they could each eat an F5 or two. This would allow WWE to end Lesnar’s appearance on RAW on a high once again, as they love to portray him as a man who no one can stand up to.

#4 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is one man who does not take rubbish from other Superstars. We saw him stand up to Shane McMahon on SmackDown last year, before having an extended rivalry with The Prodigal Son.

Similarly, KO also stood up to Seth Rollins after he blamed the entire RAW roster for their loss at Survivor Series, and has been engaged in a rivalry with Rollins and Authors of Pain for a few weeks now.

This week, we could watch Owens stand up to Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman at a time when the two are out in the ring talking down the entire RAW roster.

This will help KO gain even more credibility on the Red brand and help him become the face of RAW while opening the doors to a Lesnar and Owens rivalry down the line. It will also help The Prizefighter develop a reputation for protecting his brand and the men who put their careers and everything else on the line inside the ring.

#3 Cain Velasquez

Cain Velasquez will look to put on a better performance next time

The last we saw of Cain Velasquez was at Crown Jewel 2019 in Saudi Arabia where he lost to Brock Lesnar in a matter of seconds. Velasquez had entered WWE after Rey Mysterio and his son Dominick were attacked by Lesnar.

This was extremely embarrassing for the man who’d defeated Lesnar in UFC and taken the title away from him. It was also Velasquez’s first fight in WWE which he lost very quickly. Velasquez will be looking to exact revenge on The Beast and try to cover up for his loss at Crown Jewel.

This week on RAW, we could watch Lesnar and Paul Heyman issue a challenge for anyone in the back to come out and stand up to The Beast at the Royal Rumble.

This could lead to Velasquez coming out once again and demanding a rematch against Lesnar for the Universal Championship, claiming that his knee was the reason he lost at Crown Jewel.

Since Velasquez needs to put on a better performance to get in the flow and become a good WWE Superstar, it would be interesting to watch the creative book him against The Beast for a longer match at Royal Rumble, where he could put up a great fight, even if he ends up losing.

#2 Dio Maddin

Dio Maddin will be looking to exact some revenge

It wasn’t too long ago when Dio Maddin decided to stand up to Brock Lesnar at the announce table on an episode of RAW. While Maddin believed he could intimidate The Beast, he ended up eating an F5 for his troubles.

The attack took Maddin off commentary for good, and he was replaced by Samoa Joe for a few weeks before Joe too suffered a similar fate at the hands of the Authors of Pain. Since Lesnar’s attack on Maddin, we’ve seen the former NXT Superstar take to social media several times and ask for a match against Lesnar to teach him a lesson.

While Maddin may not be the best Superstar who can match up to Lesnar, he is still one of the better-built wrestlers out there. With that in mind, he could return to RAW this week and interrupt Paul Heyman and Lesnar while they talk about how no one can stand up to the Beast.

This could result in an argument between Maddin and Heyman, leading to a challenge from Maddin to Lesnar for the Royal Rumble.

Not only will this be a good way for WWE to bring Maddin back into the ring, but it will also offer Lesnar someone to throw around and beat without his competitor losing any value. This match could end up being a good placeholder in the Universal Championship picture, as the seeds of the match were planted weeks ago.

#1 Drew McIntyre

Talking of a Superstar with strength, few can match up to Brock Lesnar as well as Drew McIntyre. Both men have a similar attitude and are very intimidating while having the strength not many can match.

Fans have been upset over the lack of championship opportunities McIntyre has gotten over the years, and think that he should be the man to defeat Lesnar for the WWE Championship.

Keeping that in mind, it could be the perfect time to bring McIntyre into a rivalry with Lesnar. We’ve seen WWE build McIntyre in recent weeks by giving him some impressive victories over some not so impressive Superstars.

This could result in McIntyre coming out and demanding a match against The Beast when Paul Heyman asks for a challenger to come out.

WWE needs to bring McIntyre into the top championship picture before fans begin to lose interest in him. A strong match against Lesnar will help build him into an even stronger Superstar, even if he's unable to defeat The Beast Incarnate.

McIntyre deserves to get a top championship opportunity without winning the Royal Rumble match, as he's over enough to get through without any gimmick.
