Roman Reigns and The Miz have been part of some great battles together

The Miz is amongst the most versatile WWE stars on the current roster. The A-Lister has tasted success in both singles and tag team divisions. However, he tends to be more potent with someone by his side, which could be the reason for his eight tag team title reigns.

Despite being a notorious heel, The Miz has got the support of many different allies in his career. The former WWE Champion even had to team up with his rivals to tackle the circumstances on a few occasions.

In this article, let's relive The Miz's greatness as a tag team expert by taking a look at five surprising superstars he has teamed up with in WWE.

#5. The Miz fought alongside Roman Reigns on a few occasions

Roman Reigns and The Miz are no strangers. Both superstars have faced each other on numerous occasions, delivering high-quality matches. Things got bitter between the two during 2017-18 when Reigns began showing interest in The Miz's Intercontinental Championship.

However, the two men were forced to work together in 2019 to combat Shane McMahon and his partners. On the May 13 episode of WWE RAW in 2019, Miz and Reigns were blindsided by Bobby Lashley and Elias. This led to a tag team bout between the four performers, which ended in a no-contest thanks to interference from Shane-O-Mac.

It wasn't the only time the two men got on the same page together, as they teamed up again for a four-on-four tag team match the very next night on WWE Smackdown, where Shane's team was victorious.

#4 The Miz won the tag titles with Shane McMahon.

Before turning into bitter rivals, Shane McMahon and The Miz enjoyed a brief run as Smackdown Tag Team Champions. The two stars won the titles at Royal Rumble 2019 by dethroning The Bar (Sheamus and Cesaro). They held the Championships until WWE Elimination Chamber, where they lost against The Usos.

The Miz showed immense trust in McMahon during this partnership. He considered him a true friend, despite the notoriety of the McMahon family.

It didn't take long for Shane to show his true colors. At the Fastlane pay-per-view, the former Smackdown General Manager turned his back on Miz by attacking him in front of his father.

#3 The Miz and Maryse have had a few battles against other Power couples.

In 2016, WWE decided to align The Miz with his wife, Maryse. This decision turned out to be a success, as The A-Lister became more entertaining.

Although Maryse always supported The Miz in a non-wrestling role, things changed when they entered a rivalry with John Cena and Nikki Bella. The two couples battled at WrestleMania 33, making it the first time The Miz teamed up with his wife in the ring.

Although they failed to win, The It Couple took away a lot of sweet memories from this bout. The duo once again came together at Hell in a Cell 2019 against Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella. They seemingly had better plans this time as they succeeded in defeating their rivals.

After RAW this Monday, we will see Miz and Maryse team up to face Edge and Beth Phoenix at Royal Rumble 2022.

#2. The Miz and John Cena were tag team champions

John Cena is one of The Miz's greatest opponents of all time. The A-Lister has accused Cena of stealing his spotlight on various occasions. But at one point in their careers, he held the Tag team Championships with John Cena.

The incident dates back to February 2011, when Cena and The Miz challenged The Corre (Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel) for their tag team titles. In a shocking turn of events, the A-Lister pinned Justin and won the titles for his team.

However, The Corre invoked their rematch clause and defeated the newly crowned Champs when The Miz laid Cena with a Skull Crushing Finale. Although their alliance didn't last long, the duo was able to carve out their special moment.

#1. Daniel Bryan and The Miz fought side-by-side in 2019.

If there was a bigger rival of The Miz than John Cena, it was Daniel Bryan. Their feud reached its peak in 2016 when The A-Lister humiliated Bryan on an episode of Talking Smack.

After Daniel returned from his retirement in 2018, he revisited his rivalry with The Miz. While the Awesome One was victorious at SummerSlam, Bryan got his redemption at Super Showdown. But just a year later, circumstances forced these two men to patch up their differences and fight together.

During the second half of 2019, both Bryan and Miz were a part of a rivalry with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. The Eater of Worlds had tortured both superstars, causing them to team up to overcome this threat.

During an episode of WWE Smackdown, the two stars fought against the villainous duo of King Corbin and Dolph Ziggler. Surprisingly, the two men showed amazing chemistry and even picked up the victory.

The alliance did not go any further as The Miz soon turned heel, while Bryan became more focused on his rivalry with The Fiend.
