5 Things WWE may not be allowed to do at WrestleMania 36

There will be a number of rules in place at WrestleMania
There will be a number of rules in place at WrestleMania

WrestleMania takes place in just over two weeks' time but instead of a huge arena production that the WWE Universe has become accustomed to with WWE's biggest show, it appears that this year will be very different.

Vince McMahon and his team have been working overtime in recent weeks to ensure that the show will still go on, but because of the new rules that have been passed down to minimize the impact following the COVID -19 outbreak, WrestleMania will now take place at WWE's Performance Center in Orlando, Florida rather than The Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay.

The show will also be much shorter than originally planned with only ten matches rumored to be taking place over the two nights rather than the speculated 16 that the company had planned a number of months ago.

The recent outbreak definitely comes with restrictions, which means that there are a number of things that WWE may not be allowed to do at this year's WrestleMania.

#5 No Audience

Last Friday night, WWE presented their first show live from the Performance Center when it was made official that WWE shows could continue but they would have to continue without an audience.

The social distancing rule means that the World Health Organisation have advised that people stay at least two meters away from each other at all times to prevent the virus from being able to spread and it's obviously not something that can be done in a crowded arena.

WWE stands to lose millions of dollars by putting the show on without an audience, but it means that they will be able to continue with the creative stories that they have and won't have to re-write a lot of their feuds, which would have happened if The Chairman had decided to postpone the show.

#4 No battle royals

Over the past six years, The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been the part of WrestleMania that has allowed many members of the company's roster to be included in the show and go on to get a WrestleMania paycheck.

The Women's Battle Royal followed a few years later and it now means that many of the women who have been overlooked throughout their main roster career can be part of WrestleMania, with Carmella and Naomi picking up the victories in the past.

This year neither battle royal will be able to take place since the social distancing rules that are in place couples with the fact that no more than 50 people are supposed to be in a venue at any one time mean that WWE is quite limited when it comes to what matches it can put on the show.

At present all of the matches that are set to take place are singles matches, which means that there may not be any tag team matches on the show either since WWE has to make the health of their stars a priority.

#3 Sell Merchandise?

With Axxess canceled, it will be interesting to see how much merchandise WWE actually puts out there for this year's show, especially since there will be no fans to sell it to. In years gone by WWE would make an entire range of WrestleMania merchandise so that fans could come from around the world and buy it but this isn't allowed this year.

It remains to be seen as to whether or not WWE will put merchandise on their website, but they will definitely be losing a lot of money by not being allowed to sell it to the audience. Of course there is no rule when it comes to the sale of items, but there is a rule about the audience being in the venue and the fact that the arena will only be open for essential personnel means that there won't be many fans fighting to buy the merchandise this year.

Of course, WrestleMania is taking place over two nights and at different locations, but it is worth reiterating that all locations are only open to essential personnel.

#2 Only essential personnel in the building

It was revealed earlier this week that WWE has decided to make the WrestleMania show a two-night event, which means that there will be up to five matches each night and it limits the number of personnel in the building at any one time.

This was reportedly one of the reasons why WrestleMania was made into a two-day event since the current rules state that only 50 people are allowed to be in one place at any one time. This means that there will be two stars in the ring, commentators and then camera/technical personal, a ring boy/girl and the ring announcer.

Added to the stars who will either be in the audience or waiting backstage, this would be the 50 that WWE is allowed and it sadly means that the families of many stars will not be allowed to join them backstage either. In recent years stars have made a habit of allowing their spouses and children to join them in their WrestleMania moment, but this won't be allowed this year.

#1 Special entrances?

Unless WWE makes some huge changes to the Performance Center before WrestleMania, the current set up doesn't allow fireworks, which makes sense since it's a much smaller building and using them could pose some interesting health risks for all involved.

WrestleMania entrances have become another part of the show but this year the likes of Roman Reigns and John Cena will have to find a way to make their entrances to the ring without the use of pyrotechnics or even the car that Cena famously managed to drive to the ring back at WrestleMania 23 when he took on Shawn Michaels.

Superstar entrances were all part of the spectacle that was WrestleMania but the fact that Becky Lynch's huge truck has already been revealed rather than waiting and allowing The Man to unveil it at WrestleMania as planned, means that WWE are well aware that their stars will not be able to have the blockbuster entrances that they have become accustomed to at The Biggest show of the year in the past.
