Brock Lesnar returned to take down The Bloodline on WWE SmackDown.

SmackDown hosted the first night of the much-anticipated WWE Draft. Draft nights are usually very exciting for the WWE Universe, as fans can't wait to see where their favorite superstars end up.

SmackDown picked some of the biggest names in the company to continue its dominance. Happy Corbin and Madcap Moss remained on SmackDown, while Hit Row made a surprise move to the Blue brand.

Hit Row was steadily evolving as a faction on WWE NXT, and it will be interesting to see how the creative team will handle them on the main roster.

Brock Lesnar made an appearance on this week’s episode and took down his future opponent. Meanwhile, Carmella debuted a weird mask to protect her face from taking any more damage at the hands of Liv Morgan.

Let's take a look at five things WWE got right on SmackDown this week.

#5. Brock Lesnar destroyed the #1 Draft Pick on WWE SmackDown

Universal Champion Roman Reigns kicked off SmackDown once again after WWE officials confirmed that he would remain with the Blue brand. Meanwhile, Big E became RAW’s first pick during the draft.

The Tribal Chief told the Baltimore crowd to acknowledge him right away. Paul Heyman took over the mic and recapped his client’s victory over Finn Balor at WWE Extreme Rules.

Heyman then put his client over in the usual fashion before turning his attention to Brock Lesnar.

The crowd erupted as the former WWE Champion entered the arena and had a staredown with the Universal Champion. A physical encounter followed, and Lesnar took a few right hands before suplexing Reigns.

The Beast Incarnate punished Jimmy and Jey Uso with a couple of suplexes before taking them out with a pair of F5s. Lesnar stood tall in the ring to end the segment as a rattled Reigns walked off.

The segment went brilliantly well. Reigns needed to be the first pick in the draft, so WWE made the right decision after all.

Later in the night, Lesnar cut off Jeff Hardy’s interview and revealed that he is now a free agent, all thanks to Paul Heyman.

From a storyline standpoint, this angle will help WWE build towards an even better contest between Lesnar and The Head of the Table at Crown Jewel.

#4. Happy Corbin defeated Kevin Owens on WWE SmackDown

Happy Corbin introduced the WWE Universe to his new associate Madcap Moss on SmackDown. Corbin was scheduled to take on Kevin Owens on the show once again.

This time, the match began as Corbin took control of the contest early. He worked on The Prizefighter’s knee and kept him grounded for some time.

Owens fought back and hit a Cannonball in the corner. He kept the pressure on for some time and built momentum towards the end of the match.

Moss distracted the former Universal Champion at ringside, allowing Corbin to capitalize. He hit the End of Days outside the right before hitting another inside the ring for the pinfall win.

Corbin has taken far too many losses in recent times, and with his latest victory, the creative team might be looking to rebuild him once again.

Rumors suggest that KO will not be re-signing with WWE once his contract comes to an end, which could explain why he has been subjected to average booking lately. If the rumors are indeed true, KO could put Corbin over before his exit.

#3. An eight-man tag team match lit up WWE SmackDown

After being drafted to WWE SmackDown, The New Day (Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston) teamed up with The Street Profis for a match against Alpha Academy, Robert Roode, and Dolph Ziggler. It was surprising to see WWE break up Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods once again with the draft.

The heels took control of the match early, and Otis unleashed his villainous side on his opponents. Montez Ford came into the ring, followed by Chad Gable, who kept the high-flyer grounded with some good moves.

The heels isolated Ford for some time before he created separation with an enzuigiri to Ziggler. He tagged in Angelo Dawkins, who went on a roll and wiped out everyone in the heel corner.

At the end of the match, The New Day hit their finisher on Roode to earn a victory.

SmackDown showcased its tag team division well during the contest. The Usos are the current SmackDown Tag Team Champions, but Woods and Kingston's arrival to the fold could certainly change things around quickly.

#2. Seth Rollins invaded Edge’s house during WWE SmackDown

Edge returned to WWE SmackDown this week after being put down by Seth Rollins at Madison Square Garden. He showed no signs of any neck injury and looked as fit as ever.

He recapped Seth Rollins’ threats from last week and then delivered some threats of his own, calling out the self-proclaimed Drip God to the ring.

The cameras cut to Rollins, who appeared outside of Edge’s house in North Carolina. He entered The Rated-R Superstar’s place of residence and taunted him while making himself at home.

Rollins told Edge that he would stay the night there as the cameras turned back to the latter on SmackDown. The WWE Hall of Famer was seen panicking backstage and shouting orders at his wife, Beth Phoenix.

Rollins was fantastic as always and did well to strike fear in Edge’s heart. He has been phenomenal in his new role and showed why he is amongst the top stars in the industry.

The two will have a high-stakes match soon, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top this time.

#1. Sasha Banks picked up a big win on WWE SmackDown

The final match of WWE SmackDown saw Sasha Banks take on Bianca Belair. Banks had previously returned at WWE Extreme Rules to ruin the match between Belair and Becky Lynch.

During the Blue brand's latest show, Lynch came out to take her place at the commentary table for the main event. The Boss started the match well and took control early on. She escaped Belair’s grasp and took her down with some good moves.

Meanwhile, Becky Biceps kept talking about her accomplishments in WWE and put herself over. Her future opponents continued to beat each other down. The EST hit a modified Glam Slam for a near-fall. She followed it up with a handspring moonsault but could not put Banks away.

Banks fought back with double knees in the corner, followed by a frog splash. However, she was unable to defeat Belair that way. The SmackDown Women’s Champion soon distracted Belair, and Banks took advantage by scoring the win via a jackknife pinfall.

After the match, Charlotte Flair appeared out of nowhere and took down Banks with a big boot. She stood tall to close the show. The match was solid and allowed both women to deliver their best.

The distraction finish seemed like the best way to protect both women, as Lynch will defend her title against Banks and Belair at Crown Jewel later this month.

The Boss could then move on to a rivalry with Flair for the RAW Women’s Championship.
