#5 Brock Lesnar and Chris Jericho backstage at WWE SummerSlam 2016

The main event of WWE SummerSlam 2016 saw Randy Orton go one-on-one with 'The Beast Incarnate' Brock Lesnar. The finish of this match was one of the most brutal ones in recent memory as Lesnar went on to bust Orton open with a series of elbows and won the match via technical knockout.

It almost looked as if Lesnar took things too far and even the WWE Superstars backstage were confused. It was Chris Jericho, concerned about Orton, who confronted Lesnar and the two lost their cool. During an appearance on Chael Sonnen's podcast, Jericho had the following to say about the incident.

"Any time something like that happens there's always a lot of rumors and a lot of stories being told and that sort of thing but, I mean, not to get into specifics cause it's basically between me and Brock, but, you know, we did have a little bit of a brouhaha, shall we say. I think that happens when you get guys that are in a sport such as ours, half-entertainment, half-real, half-not and you know I think you get… he had just come out of the ring, I had just come out of the ring an hour before or so, whatever, and I just thought the finish of that match was very brutal and very violent and I just didn't know if Randy was okay, and I was checking on Randy, my friend – we've always been pretty close. And I said something and he said something, next thing you know we're nose-to-nose kind of yelling at each other and it defused fairly quickly."

It was first Triple H and then WWE Chairman Vince McMahon himself who separated Lesnar and Y2J. Randy Orton received 10 stitches following the bloodied finish at WWE SummerSlam 2016.

#4 Big Show and The Great Khali at a WWE event in Puerto Rico

The Big Show and The Great Khali are two of the largest WWE Superstars in history. A real-life battle between the two is sure to be of mammoth proportions, and the same took place backstage at a WWE event in Puerto Rico.

WWE Superstar Chris Jericho described the incident in his book 'The Best in the World: At What I Have No Idea'. Jericho and Big Show teamed up to face The Undertaker and Khali at the WWE event. However, Show wasn't happy with Khali using some of his moves.

"'Khali just stole my move,' Show mumbled on the apron, and I knew something was gonna go down. He was mad as hell and wasn't going to take it anymore. We were in the dressing room after the match, and Show was still fuming, steam practically billowing out of his ears."

Chris Jericho further revealed how the two started throwing punches at each other but no one in the WWE locker room dared to interfere in this battle between the two giants, and understandably so.

"A few seconds later, Show threw the first punch, which connected with a loud smack to Khali’s overdeveloped jaw. It rocked him backwards, but he didn't go down and Khali landed a punch of his own. With the opening shots fired, the floodgates opened and the two titans began swinging like Tiger Williams. I counted at least five more smacks and cracks as the blows connected with each other's faces, shoulders, necks and chests. I had a front-row seat for King Kong vs. Godzilla and they were in a fight to death. Nobody in the locker room was too keen to break them up either and besides, how could we? Their fists were as big as my head!"

The fight was finally over when Big Show tripped over a chair and crashed onto the floor with Khali on top of him. Finally, WWE Superstars stepped in and stopped the two.

#3 WWE Chairman Vince McMahon's prank on Mark Henry gone wrong

WWE Hall of Famer and 'World's Strongest Man' Mark Henry once got pranked by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon. The incident took place during a dark match after SmackDown in 2011. Henry was told that he will have a match against Sin Cara. He kept standing in the ring but Sin Cara never came out. A furious Mark Henry went backstage and started destroying things.

"I jump through the ropes. I come to the back and it's a ghost town! Nobody's there, and I just start destroying it, tearing s--- down, pulling the lights down, and punching the walls. Just — Darth Vader's---. I wanted everything to melt. And I go down the hallways and I kick Vince's door open and he's gone. Started calling Vince, 'Man, I quit, this is the last time. Nobody ribs me, I'm a grown man.' ... Vince calls, 'Man, why did you get so bent out of shape about that, we just playing around.' I was like, 'Man, I don't deserve that. I love this business and I respect you, and I feel like I opened myself up for you to disrespect me. Obviously, you don't respect me and you damn sure don't fear me, so we don't need to talk no more.' He was like, 'Listen, I'm sorry.' He was really remorseful and sorry." (h/t WrestlingInc)

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon apologized to Henry for this prank. However, it was this incident that ultimately inspired his 'Hall of Pain' gimmick leading to him winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WWE Night of Champions 2011 later that year.

#2 Chris Jericho and Goldberg on WWE RAW

Former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg didn't get along during their time in WCW. Chris Jericho went on to sign with WWE and Goldberg followed soon, ending up on the same brand, RAW, as Jericho.

On an episode of WWE RAW, Goldberg trash-talked about Chris Jericho backstage while Y2J was out working a match. Once Jericho came back, he got to know about that and he marched straight into the dressing room. In his autobiography, Jericho revealed what went down backstage.

"It was Goldfinch’s first Raw, and I worked with HHH vs. Shawn and Booker T. After the match I was pulled aside and informed that Goldsmith had spent the entire match barking to Nash about how I didn't know how to sell properly and how I hadn't wanted to do business with him in WCW."

Jericho further revealed how he took down Goldberg with a front face lock, hoping that he would pass out.

"Once Goldster made his move, I reacted the only way I knew how. I swatted his hand off my throat and gave him a two-handed push to the chest. He rushed forward with his head down and tried to tackle me, like the ex– NFL lineman that he was. I stepped to the side like the world's worst matador and grabbed him in a front facelock. It was the only shoot hold I knew. I think I surprised the shit out of him with my lethal hold and was able to power him down to the ground, applying pressure because I knew if I pushed his throat into his chest long enough, he might pass out. I really hoped that he would go to sleep because I was sure that he was going to fire up and kick the shit out of me. I mean, come on, have you ever seen this guy? He is massive!"

This matter went to the WWE Wrestler's Court where Triple H, the judge at that time, made Goldberg apologize to Chris Jericho and admit in front of the WWE locker room that Jericho was a better wrestler than him.

#1 A fuming Brock Lesnar throws his Universal Championship on Vince McMahon after WWE WrestleMania 34

The main event of WWE WrestleMania 34 was one of the most disappointing ones in recent memory. Brock Lesnar successfully defended his Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in what was a hard-hitting match with Reigns getting busted open and pouring buckets of blood all over the ring. However, the WWE Universe was not at all invested in the match and boo'd both the Superstars.

After the match was over, Brock Lesnar went backstage and furiously threw the Universal title at Vince McMahon. The incident was recorded on camera and saw the WWE Chairman hitting back at Lesnar with some expletives. Reports suggest that Shane McMahon also got into Lesnar's face but the situation got under control soon.

There are speculations that this was a 'work' but there has been no confirmation about the same. Brock Lesnar went on to hold the Universal Championship all the way to WWE SummerSlam 2018 where he dropped it to Roman Reigns. However, Reigns had to relinquish his title soon due to leukemia and Lesnar again won the Universal title at WWE Crown Jewel 2018.
