Brock Lesnar could be back in WWE at any point in 2021.

Brock Lesnar could return to WWE at any point in the next year. It is not known when he will be back, although it seems fair to assume that he will return once live fans are back in attendance for shows. The Beast is currently not contracted to WWE, to save costs, but that will likely change in the coming months.

Royal Rumble and WrestleMania season seem like a good estimate for Brock Lesnar's WWE return, with fans possibly returning for the January pay-per-view. He could be back as soon as the Rumble, or possibly closer to 'Mania. Either way, WWE will have lined up something big for him to sink his teeth into.

Since his quick sprint of a match with Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 36, WWE has been missing the star power of names like Lesnar among others, to an extent. The pay-per-view events in the ThunderDome seem fine, with consistently good quality, but RAW could do with a returning Beast.

Anyway, providing for every possible return date from Royal Rumble until, say, SummerSlam, here are five ways WWE could book Brock Lesnar when he decides to return.

#5 Brock Lesnar could face Drew McIntyre in a blockbuster rematch at Royal Rumble 2021

It might not be the likeliest option, but WWE could viably bring Brock Lesnar as quickly as possible as a response to RAW's low ratings. If he does return in January, The Beast would instantly go after Drew McIntyre and the WWE Championship. The last time Lesnar wasn't anywhere near the world title when he was in WWE dates back to four years ago.

Brock Lesnar would give Monday nights an instant boost thanks to his star power and ability to entertain if he feels like it. He will have an ax to grind with McIntyre, who emphatically dethroned him at WrestleMania.

Their match was short likely because of the lack of fans in attendance, which might change for Royal Rumble. Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar are capable of pulling off a spectacular and violent match, one that would be fuelled by a raucous crowd. A big-time rematch between the two will likely happen, it is just a matter of when.

Again, Brock Lesnar might not return at all in January. But this is as effective a spot he could have upon his comeback. The Beast could give McIntyre the true rub in front of live fans that was intended to happen at WrestleMania 36. Royal Rumble 2021 would definitely be much bigger for it.

#4 Brock Lesnar could win the Royal Rumble Match on his return to action

Another option for Brock Lesnar if he returns to WWE in January is participation in the 2021 Royal Rumble Match. He could either declare himself for the match or simply show up at the Rumble as a surprise entrant. There is scope for a truly shocking moment here, with Lesnar rocking up in WWE with no indication of a new contract between the parties.

Brock Lesnar might have some unfinished business with the Royal Rumble, after having an excellent performance in last year's match. He entered at No. 1, despite being the WWE Champion. The Beast proceeded to eliminate 13 Superstars before being dumped out by Drew McIntyre.

So, if he isn't challenging The Scottish Warrior at Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar might be a decent shout to go on and win the 30-man match. There would be a lot of intrigue surrounding his possible opponent at WrestleMania 37, with a lot of storyline potential on both, RAW and SmackDown.

Lesnar could very well face McIntyre at 'Mania if he wins the Royal Rumble Match, but that is not his only option. There is a ready-made storyline for him on SmackDown which could happen through a Rumble victory, or possibly at a later point in 2021. More on that in a bit.

#3 Brock Lesnar could face Bobby Lashley in a dream match when he returns

There is a chance that Brock Lesnar returns directly for WrestleMania 37, with quite a few opponents likely to pose a challenge to him. One of them is Bobby Lashley, who has been vocal in his intentions to face Lesnar in a WWE ring. A match between the pair would be fantastic. It is one of the very few dream matches left in the company at this point.

The two of them are capable of a violent and bloody brawl, especially with their MMA histories. Even the build to the match would be pretty fun, with MVP and Paul Heyman battling it out on promos. This would be one hell of a return match for Brock Lesnar.

Bobby Lashley is being booked pretty strong in WWE right now, currently holding the United States Championship and dominating the competition. However, he would have to lose the US title before a showdown with Lesnar. There is no way The Beast would challenge for a secondary title.

There is also some history that could be revisited between Brock Lesnar and Hurt Business member, Shelton Benjamin. The two of them trained together back in the day, making for another interesting layer to this meaty story. Whether Lesnar returns for WrestleMania or beyond, a match with Bobby Lashley is a must for 2021.

#2 Brock Lesnar could insert himself in a WWE Championship program between Drew McIntyre and Keith Lee at WrestleMania 37

While it would be pretty fresh to see Brock Lesnar outside the WWE and Universal title picture, he will most likely return to the world title scene when he is back on WWE TV. The most plausible scenario would see Lesnar insert himself in the WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 37, whether Drew McIntyre has an opponent or not.

One of the most likely WrestleMania opponents for the current WWE Champion is Keith Lee, who has had a turbulent time on RAW since being called up in August. The Limitless One would be an excellent choice to challenge McIntyre at 'Mania, but he might not be the only one to do so.

Reports have indicated that both, Keith Lee and Brock Lesnar could challenge Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania in a triple threat for the WWE Championship. Lee could get there by winning the Royal Rumble Match before Lesnar simply shows up and gets added to the match because he's Brock Lesnar. It's that simple.

The Beast would instantly be a hated heel as well, attempting to thwart Keith Lee in his attempt to become the WWE Champion. The two of them could tease a future one-on-one match, as they did during their exchange in the 2020 Royal Rumble Match.

#1 Brock Lesnar could feud with WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns over Paul Heyman

This is the storyline on SmackDown that was previously alluded to for Brock Lesnar. He doesn't even need to win the Royal Rumble to get to this point, with a very visible issue present. Lesnar's trusted client, Paul Heyman, is currently serving as the special counsel to The Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns.

It is fair to say that The Beast wouldn't be happy with the partnership. That being said, a match between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship would suit SummerSlam more than WrestleMania. Reigns already has a line of SmackDown Superstars lining up to challenge him at the 'Show of Shows'.

Besides, this might be where Lesnar makes his WWE return. He could give WrestleMania 37 a complete miss, before coming back to challenge Roman Reigns. A match between the two stars would be an upgrade from their lackluster encounters in 2018, owing to The Big Dog's recent character change.

This a story that Brock Lesnar could truly get behind and sink his teeth into. He might even be the babyface in this scenario, with Heyman turning on him to remain on Reigns' side.

Ideally, this is the storyline he should return to WWE with. The company must immediately address the elephant in the room, that is Paul Heyman's duties away from Brock Lesnar.
