The ladder match, where a briefcase is hung on top with the winner getting a title opportunity in the future, is a moment that can change WWE Superstars' careers. But there have also been some rather poor moments, where the winners haven't had much of an impact or have been wasted by bad booking.

Let's take a look at 5 worst Money in the Bank winners of all-time:

#5 Baron Corbin

Baron Corbin won the Money in the Bank ladder match at the 2017 edition of the PPV, which was quite a surprise decision considering the match had much superior and popular Superstars like AJ Styles, Shinsuke Nakamura, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens.

He won the match after pushing AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura off the ladder, when the two were battling it out.

Corbin's Money in the Bank contract win didn't have much impact. He held the briefcase for 58 days, and cashed it in on a SmackDown show against WWE Champion Jinder Mahal, but was swiftly between. He became only the second Superstar after Damien Sandow to lose his cash-in match.

#4 Damien Sandow

Speaking of Damien Sandow, the former WWE Superstar won the 2013 edition of the match, defeating Cody Rhodes, Wade Barrett, Dean Ambrose, Jack Swagger, Fandango, and Cesaro to the briefcase.

Sandow, though, made history as he became the first person to lose his cash-in match when he was defeated by John Cena on an episode of RAW.

#3 Carmella

Carmella made history when she became the very first women's Money in the Bank winner, at the 2017 edition of the show.

But that win didn't come without controversy. Carmella, who had James Ellsworth as her manager, won the briefcase after Ellsworth helped her take it from the top and give it to her. She defeated the likes of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Natalya, and Tamina, and got her title opportunity.

But two days later on SmackDown, then SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan, ordered a rematch, this time expelling Ellsworth from the ring.

She won it again, and held the briefcase for 287 days which is the longest any Superstar has held it for. She cashed in the contract on the SmackDown after WrestleMania 34, defeating Charlotte Flair to her first title.

The win for Carmella in the Money in the Bank ladder match was rightly criticised as it didn't highlight the women, as they have earned their right to this prestigious match.

#2 Mr. Kennedy

Not many would remember that Mr. Kennedy won the third Money in the Bank ladder match at WrestleMania 23. The WrestleMania 23 Money in the Bank ladder match had a few future WWE legends and Mr. Kennedy.

The match featured Edge, Jeff Hardy, CM Punk, King Booker, Finlay, Matt Hardy, and Randy Orton, as well as Kennedy, and the then mid-card talent went on to win the match.

But the win didn't help him. He faced off against Edge for the contract, and lost the match, following which he had to give it up. Edge moved to SmackDown after winning the contract on RAW, and the very next day defeated The Undertaker to win the title.

It was later revealed that Kennedy had to give up the contract because he had suffered an injury. Quite unfortunate for Mr. Kennedy.

#1 Brock Lesnar

This has to be the most unanimously disliked Money in the Bank winner of all-time. While the others on this list may have not been a big enough name or won by dubious means, Brock Lesnar's win at the 2019 Money in the Bank ladder match is despised and disliked by the WWE Universe because he does not deserve another opportunity.

The Beast has won everything there is to win in the WWE and did not need the Money in the Bank briefcase to further his legacy.

WWE have shot themselves in the foot with this booking as they could have used this opportunity to push a budding Superstar. We await boos from the WWE Universe when Lesnar does make his WWE appearance next.
