WWE's Money in the Bank pay-per-view is coming up this weekend and that means that the infamous ladder matches are fast approaching. The fields for the men's and women's Money in the Bank Ladder matches are almost set and many people can't wait to see who will win the contracts.

The briefcases are a great prop for a WWE Superstar to immediately make them seem more relevant. You get taken more seriously when you are Mr or Ms Money in the Bank. Then there's the fact that they are always a threat to any World Champion in WWE.

With that in mind, there are some Superstars in WWE who absolutely don't need the Money in the Bank briefcase. Roman Reigns is one example that springs to mind as he's a big enough threat as it is, without one. However, some Superstars do need it.

Let's take a look at five WWE Superstars who need the Money in the Bank briefcase:

#5. WWE Superstar Seth Rollins

Many people may disagree with this, as Seth Rollins has already held the Money in the Bank briefcase and successfully cashed it in to become World Champion. The 'Heist of the Century' at WrestleMania 31 when Rollins defeated Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar was a sight to behold.

And I would agree with them to an extent, especially as Rollins has been in the main event of WWE several times since then and has already established himself as a major player in the company.

However, Rollins' 'Monday Night Rollins' and 'Monday Night Messiah' characters have seen him take a step away from the main event spotlight. Instead, Rollins has been used in a number of high-profile upper-mid-card feuds against the likes of Cesaro and Rey Mysterio.

So much so that I would argue that people don't see Rollins as a legitimate main eventer or top guy in WWE at the moment. That's why I believe he needs a run as Mr. Money in the Bank so that he can knock on that door and eventually win the title whenever he chooses. A run with the title would remind everyone that he can carry WWE as a champion.

#4. WWE Women's Tag Team Champion Natalya

Natalya has been in WWE for such a long time now that it's easy to forget how consistent, reliable and good she is as a professional wrestler. It's also just as easy to forget her two world title reigns in WWE, the first as Divas Champion in 2010 and the second as SmackDown Women's Champion in 2017.

She was recently inserted into the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match by WWE authority figure Sonya Deville, who was quick to praise Natalya's consistency when making the announcement.

Natalya needs a solid, credible run as a major player in the women's division and arguably deserves one for all of her years of service and the Money in the Bank briefcase is the best way to achieve this.

Winning the Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match and becoming Ms. Money in the Bank would also be a great way to add a notch to Natalya's storied legacy. We've certainly seen WWE reward other long-term employees with success like Kofi Kingston.

#3. WWE SmackDown star Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens is another Superstar who, like Seth Rollins, is more than capable of being WWE Champion or Universal Champion, but has spent quite some time without being the holding one of WWE's two major championships.

Owens hasn't been a world champion in WWE since 2017 when he had a really good run with the Universal Title that ultimately led to the now iconic Festival of Friendship segment where he turned on his 'friend' Chris Jericho. A storyline and feud that will go down in the annals of professional wrestling without a doubt.

That title run was cut short by Goldberg of all people. While Goldberg winning the title was necessary to set up the Brock Lesnar match at WrestleMania (even though it didn't need the Universal Title), it ended a great title run from a very hot Kevin Owens.

That's why the Money in the Bank Ladder match is something that Kevin Owens needs. We need another Kevin Owens title run and he would simply be brilliant as the reigning Mr. Money in the Bank.

#2. WWE Superstar Liv Morgan

Riott Squad and Absolution sent shockwaves through WWE when they debuted during the same week on separate brands attacking members of WWE's women's roster.

However, after all these years, neither team has produced a world champion in WWE. Absolution's Paige has since retired from in-ring action, Sonya Deville is now an on-screen authority figure, and Mandy Rose is in a tag-team. The Riott Squad's Ruby Riott and Sarah Logan are no longer with the company.

That only leaves Liv Morgan as the sole member of the two factions in with a shot at achieving singles success. And now Morgan has an opportunity to do so as she's officially been entered into the Women's Money in the Bank ladder match after weeks of campaigning.

Not only is Morgan good enough to be a world champion in WWE, but, by extension, Ms. Money in the Bank as well. A win for Morgan would also go some way to proving that WWE didn't squander the big debuts of Absolution and Riott Squad. So not only does Liv Morgan need a Money in the Bank briefcase, but WWE needs her to have it as well.

#1. WWE RAW Superstar Ricochet

Ricochet debuted in WWE as a major star, which was only right given how popular he'd gotten himself during his time on the independent circuit. However, his stock has fallen slightly since then.

Ricochet has recently been used to prop up WWE Main Event as a show and to feud with teams like The Hurt Business and RETRIBUTION whenever he was being used. Plus, all of his recent appearances have been as far away from the main event and winning a world title as possible.

However, Ricochet is one of WWE's most gifted and most exhilarating performers. He is almost certainly one of the best high-flyers to ever set foot inside the squared circle, so he absolutely could, and should, win a world title in WWE.

But how do you overcome Ricochet's bad booking and make it believable that he could become a world champion over the likes of Roman Reigns or Bobby Lashley? Well, the Money in the Bank briefcase of course. Ricochet absolutely needs to become Mr. Money in the Bank.
