Roman Reigns is the face of WWE as part of their current era, but that doesn't mean that he hasn't made himself a number of enemies.

Whilst many WWE Superstars have spoken out about their love of Roman Reigns and the fact that he is a respectable person inside and outside of the ring, others don't feel the same way.

Despite only being part of WWE's main roster for nine years, the current Universal Champion has had several backstage altercations and picked up heat with a number of stars.

The following list looks at just five current and former WWE Superstars who once had heat with Roman Reigns.

#5. Former WWE Superstar Enzo Amore once got on the wrong side of Roman Reigns

Enzo Amore was a fantastic talker, one of the strengths that he brought to his WWE character was his ability on the mic, but that doesn't mean that he didn't rub some stars the wrong way.

Back in the summer of 2016, Amore managed to annoy Roman Reigns so much that he was kicked off the WWE tour bus whilst the company was on tour in Europe. It was widely reported that Amore was talking loudly on his phone at the time and that “those who couldn’t help but hear him thought were negative about the business.”

Corey Graves commented on the incident as part of an appearance on Bring It To The Table in 2017.

“I want Enzo on the team. The guy has a ton of faults on-screen and off-screen. The guy you see on Monday Night RAW is the guy you will meet on a Wednesday afternoon walking down the street. Enzo is Enzo 24 hours a day which rubs a lot of people the wrong way.” He added, “If you’re on a European tour for 12 days deep and he’s going on and on and an about how he partied with The Weekend in L.A., you’re gonna get tired of hearing about it. There’s a limit and when you’re on the road that much, a guy like that will wear on your nerves.”

This led to Roman Reigns being the man who stepped up and kicked Amore off the bus, and the star was later kicked out of the locker room as well, before being released from WWE in 2018.

#4. Former WWE Superstar Nia Jax appears to still have heat with Roman Reigns

Nia Jax and Roman Reigns are related since Jax is also a member of the famous Anoa'i family. It appears that even though the two stars are family members, they have still reportedly had a well-documented altercation.

Reigns and Jax reportedly clashed over the table spot that was supposed to take place at Survivor Series last year. For several weeks leading up to the show, Lana had been put through a table by Nia Jax, but she wasn't allowed to do it at Survivor Series because Roman Reigns wanted to put Drew McIntyre through a table instead.

As part of an interview on Talk is Jericho, Lana revealed that Reigns was the one who vetoed the idea.

“We were supposed to do this whole table spot on the show. And then Roman did not want it, because he had a table spot with [Drew McIntyre]. So there was some major pushback. The Samoans, Nia and Roman, you know, that whole thing.”

Jax reportedly had an argument with Reigns backstage following this change and a recent Tweet seems to give off the impression that Jax is not over her issues with the Universal Champion.

#3. Riddle garnered backstage heat for his comments about Roman Reigns

Riddle has made several enemies on WWE's main roster over the past few years, including Roman Reigns.

Whilst it has been well-publicized that Riddle had heat with Goldberg and Brock Lesnar, the RAW Tag Team Champion also made some interesting comments about Roman Reigns.

“No disrespect to Roman, he seems like a swell fella, but at the same time, it's like when people say they're a good parent. You know what? If you were a good parent, your kids would be telling you you're a good parent. When he's saying 'Acknowledge me' or 'I move the needle,' no, you don't. You're related to The Rock. Shut up. Like, I'm not impressed, I can beat you up in a real fight. So, shut your mouth."

These comments did not go down well backstage and it was revealed by Riddle himself that he garnered some heat and was forced to apologize.

"I think maybe I got a little too big for my britches, you know what I mean? Maybe I got a little backstage heat. Maybe a tiny bit."

Riddle and Reigns are currently on separate brands, so it's unclear if the two stars have put their issues behind them.

#2. Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns collided on Twitter

Cody Rhodes left WWE more than five years ago, but it was following his departure from the company that he called out Roman Reigns on Twitter.

Rhodes cut a promo back in 2017 where he claimed he was the "biggest damn draw in this entire industry" which found its way to Roman Reigns.

The Universal Champion responded to the Tweet, saying: "I don’t even need to click the link and watch it. If that house didn’t draw over 100K. He’s just talking silly. #WalkOverTalk."

The current AEW superstar then responded to this dig by cutting another promo where he brought up Reigns' past issues with WWE's wellness policy: "I thought that tactical vest was just covering up a failed drug test, but it was covering up envy.”

The Tribal Chief never responded, but since Rhodes and Reigns are still on opposite sides of the war between AEW and WWE, it's hard to imagine that a truce has been made.

#1. Roman Reigns and Randy Orton once had a showdown backstage

Roman Reigns may be considered to be the face of WWE at present, but Randy Orton has been part of the company for more than two decades and the two stars have come head to head in the past.

When Reigns first came through the ranks in the company, the current Universal Champion screwed up a spot in a match against The Viper which led to a loud backstage argument.

Bryan Alvarez of The Wrestling Observer revealed that the argument later led to a power struggle backstage since Triple H and Vince McMahon had different ideas on handling the situation.

"There was heat on the Shield in recent weeks. It was said that Rollins and Reigns were the two the office was upset with... Another WWE source said the issue with Reigns was that there was a house show tag match which Reigns and Randy Orton were in, and they botched up a spot and got into a shouting match about it backstage. A guy in Reigns' spot arguing with a guy in Randy Orton's spot is a great way to get massive heat on you."

Since then, Roman Reigns and Orton have had a much more professional relationship and even joked on Instagram in 2020 about Reigns' new teeth.
