5 WWE Superstars who can be the last entrant in the Men’s Money in the Bank match 2020

After a successful WrestleMania event, WWE are now preparing for their upcoming pay-per-view, Money in the Bank. This event will feature the Men’s and Women’s matches for the MITB contract that will allow the winner to challenge for the World Titles in their respective categories.

Both matches will feature six Superstars each as they will battle it out to climb the ‘corporate ladder’ in order to reach the briefcase.

Sor far, WWE have confirmed four participants for the Men’s Money in the Bank match – Daniel Bryan, Aleister Black, Apollo Crews, and Rey Mysterio. The fifth participant will be the winner of a match between King Baron Corbin and Drew Gulak, which is scheduled to take place on Friday this week.

However, WWE have not yet announced the qualifying match to determine the final entrant in this match.

Naturally, it has led to a lot of speculation amidst the WWE fans, who are eager to find out about the last name that can be added to the match card of the upcoming PPV.

In this article, we will take a look at five WWE Superstars who could be the last entrant in this year’s Money in the Bank match. So, without further ado, let’s begin.

#5 Kofi Kingston

Kofi Kingston can add so much more to this match

Almost one year ago, Kofi Kingston defeated Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and etched one of the best WrestleMania moments in our memory. Although his title run was decent, it met with an underwhelming conclusion after he was defeated by Brock Lesnar within a matter of a few seconds.

After losing his title, Kingston went back to the Tag Team division and has now been competing alongside Big E in the absence of Xavier Woods, who has been ruled out of in-ring action due to an injury he sustained.

It would be poetic if Kingston finds a way to win the MITB match this year and use it to become a World Champion in WWE once again. But that possibility seems too far-fetched. Moreover, he is now one-half of the SmackDown Tag Team Champions, and it is highly unlikely for him to pursue Single’s competition, especially in the absence of Woods.

Having said that, Kingston is still one of the best options that WWE have when it comes to deciding the last entrant in this year’s MITB match. The New Day member is popular for his unmatched antiques and has delivered countless jaw-dropping moments in the past. He is one of those Superstar's who thrives amidst chaos and can steal the show without making anyone else look bad.

Therefore, even if Kingston has no chance of winning the MITB contract, he can still be included in the match to ensure the match will be entertaining, thanks to his daring maneuvers.

#4 The Miz

Last week, The Miz represented his team in the SmackDown Tag Team titles match that was eventually won by Big E. Although The Miz seems to be quite comfortable in the Tag Team division alongside John Morrison, one can’t deny that he always has a way to insert himself into the bigger picture in the company.

By booking Miz as the last entrant in the Money in the Bank match this year, WWE can ensure that there will be enough entertainment throughout the build-up to the prestigious competition.

Miz brings the flame required to hype up the fans for upcoming matches, and he is brilliant at doing so. With only a couple of weeks left for the upcoming PPV, WWE can use a participant like him to bring more attention to the event.

Moreover, it’s been a really long time since Miz had his hands on a Single’s title. And given his opportunistic gimmick, he can be considered as a serious threat to the rest of the Superstars involved in the MITB match.

Additionally, this could also set up the foundation for an eventual feud with Miz and Morrison.

#3 Sheamus

Could this be the opportunity that Sheamus has been looking for?
Could this be the opportunity that Sheamus has been looking for?

WWE Superstar Sheamus returned to the company after a long hiatus and has finally started to gain some momentum on SmackDown. Since it is highly unlikely for him to reunite with Cesaro and recreate The Bar, it will be fair to assume that he is also eyeing the important Money in the Bank contract.

Sheamus, who has been a World Champion thrice in the past, is one of the most convincing performers in WWE today. But somewhere along the line, he lost a lot of credibility owing to constant weak bookings.

Despite that, he has the potential to be a monster heel but has been struggling to make a mark in this business once again – an act that can be understandably difficult, especially after a prolonged hiatus.

Adding Sheamus to this year’s Men’s Money in the Bank match will definitely account for a shocking decision but in a good way. He is one of those Superstars who can be trusted with the MITB briefcase because he can be an extremely convincing heel when he cashes it in to take the Championship from one of the babyfaces on the roster.

Moreover, a well-booked title run will remind the WWE Universe of his caliber and how he deserves much more attention than he usually gets.

#2 AJ Styles

By now, almost everyone in the pro-wrestling business acknowledges the fact that AJ Styles is one of the best workers to have graced the squared circle. He is fantastic inside the ring and equally amazing on the mic. His recent feud The Undertaker culminated in one of the most entertaining matches in WrestleMania history.

Even before that, Styles was doing great. Despite the underwhelming booking of Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, the ‘Phenomenal One’ ensured that The O.C. get the respect that they deserve. He was remarkably good as a heel, and it was entertaining to see the villainous stable picking on other people on the roster.

Unfortunately, Anderson and Gallows were released from WWE last week, and their entertaining run came to an unexpected halt.

Now that Styles is all by himself and is not a part of any active feud, he could very well be the last entrant in the Money in the Bank match. He will be one of the best people to potentially have the MITB briefcase with him owing to his ability to carry himself as an annoying yet credible heel.

The ‘Phenomenal One’ has never won the Money in the Bank match, so the creatives have a chance to create history here. Moreover, Styles himself said that he would try to carry on the legacy of The O.C. into the PPV, which would end with an apt result if he walks out with the briefcase in his hand.

Even if he doesn’t win, Styles will certainly do wonders in increasing the overall popularity surrounding the match – something that WWE desperately needs during this hour.

#1 Kevin Owens

The former Universal Champion, Kevin Owens, is undoubtedly one of the most entertaining Superstars in WWE today. Just like AJ Styles, Owens is extremely good inside the ring and even better on the mic. He can be included in the most random feuds, and he will still find a way to make it entertaining. His recent feud with Seth Rollins is the biggest proof of that.

Although KO is a babyface right now, his gimmick is not in any way similar to that of the conventional heroes of the company. He usually prefers to do what is in his best interests and still manages to remain over with the crowd.

After defeating the Monday Night Messiah at WrestleMania 36, KO is now actively looking for a new feud. But what if WWE decides to have him pose as a serious threat to the World Title picture on both brands?

When it comes down to the favorites to win the MITB match, having KO as the last entrant this year will allow WWE to keep the crowd divided between names like Daniel Bryan, Aleister Black, and KO himself. It will keep the bout entertaining and WWE would not have to rush into any underwhelming feud in order to keep Owens on the match card for the upcoming PPV.

For the 2020 Women's Money in the Bank match, WWE have already confirmed five participants, but there's a lot of mystery surrounding the last entrant. You can check out the possibilities for the same here.
