5 WWE Stars Who Have Shockingly Been Overlooked At Hell In A Cell

The Hell in a Cell pay-per-view streams live from the AT&T Stadium in San Antonio, Texas and even though the card is looking stacked, there are a number of notable names who haven't made the cut this month.

WWE's roster is bigger than it has ever been before and now that there are two separate rosters and one joined pay-per-view at the end of every month, there will always be a few stars who will miss out.

There are only eight matches on the card for Hell in a Cell, which isn't a lot when it's compared to the card for SummerSlam last month and with the kickoff show still to be announced, there could be a few more names added to the show in the coming days. Ahead of this announcement, here are five WWE stars who deserved to be on the Hell in a Cell card, but have been completely overlooked.

#5. Asuka

Asuka is the winner of the first ever Women's Royal Rumble match and once had the longest undefeated streak in WWE history but ever since Charlotte was able to overcome The Empress of Tomorrow back at WrestleMania, Asuka has been unable to pick up the form that she needs on SmackDown Live.

Two back to back losses to Carmella when she was fighting for the Women's Championship at both Money in the Bank and Extreme Rules left Asuka on the sidelines with nothing for her to do creatively before she recently made the save for Naomi who was being outnumbered by The Iconics.

Despite finally finding a place on the card, Asuka still hasn't been given a match at Hell in a Cell, which means that this is the second successive pay-per-view that she has missed after she was overlooked back at SummerSlam as well.

#4. The Boss 'n' Hug Connection

Sasha Banks and Bayley are two of the biggest stars in the Raw Women's Division, but whilst the other two members of The Four Horsewomen fight it out for the SmackDown Women's Championship on Sunday night, Sasha and Bayley will be watching from the audience since they haven't been given a place on the card.

Sasha Banks and Bayley haven't been part of a pay-per-view since Money in the Bank after being forgotten ahead of Extreme Rules, SummerSlam and now Hell in a Cell. Considering this tag team is being built as the favourites to win the first ever Women's Tag Team Championships, WWE aren't doing a very good job of making these women look credible.

#3 Finn Balor

Finn Balor hasn't had a great time as of late, after fighting for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, he has most recently been reduced to a feud with the acting General Manager of Monday Night Raw, which has left him in a less than dominant position on Raw.

Balor was recently defeated by his friend Braun Strowman before he was then saved by The Shield, but other than that The Demon has been unable to pick up a feud heading into Hell in a Cell, which could be why he is another one of the company's top stars that are missing out on the show.

#2 Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens decided to quit WWE three weeks ago, before making his return just seven days later to attack Bobby Lashley as part of his in-ring segment with Jinder Mahal. Owens and Lashley are two obvious misses this weekend at Hell in a Cell, but Lashley also missed SummerSlam.

The former MMA star hasn't been given a great start to his WWE career in recent weeks but it is thought that a match between Owens and Lashley could still be added to the show over the next two days since the male side of the WWE roster don't have an official pay-per-view for almost two months after Hell in a Cell.

#1. Shinsuke Nakamura

One of the biggest shocks of Hell in a Cell is the fact that Shinsuke Nakamura has been left off the card, even though he's the United States Champion. Neither of the mid-card titles will be defended in Texas, but whilst Seth Rollins is still on the card, Nakamura wasn't even given this opportunity.

He has been feuding with Jeff Hardy over the title ever since their encounter at Extreme Rules, but whilst Hardy and Randy Orton have continued their rivalry and it will now end inside Satan's structure. General Manager Paige has failed to unveil a new challenger for Nakamura which means that he will be another star watching from the crowd on Sunday night.
