Royal Rumble is one of the biggest events of WWE, and it has a considerable significance. The road to WrestleMania starts at Royal Rumble. It is the first PPV of the year, and it is scheduled to be held in Pheonix, Arizona on 27th January 2019.

Royal Rumble has a rich history, and it started in 1988. The most exciting part of the event is the battle royal match which is a traditional 30-man match. The participants enter the ring at a regular interval, and they try to eliminate each other from the ring. The last surviving participant becomes the winner of the match. As a result, the winner gets an opportunity to headline Wrestlemania.

#7 Shawn Michaels ( 1995, 1996)

Shawn Micheals is regarded as one of the best in-ring performers in the WWE history. Michaels retired after he lost to The Undertaker at WrestleMania XXVI. However, he broke retirement at Crown Jewel where teamed up with Triple H in a tag team match. He is capable of competing at Wrestlemania 35.

Shawn Michales is a two-time Royal Rumble winner. Michaels made his WWE debut in 1988 and he had a long career. He won the Royal Rumble match in 1995 and got a title shot against Diesel at WrestleMania XI.

As a matter of fact, Michales won two consecutive Royal Rumble matches when he was victorious in 1996. As a result, he main-evented Wrestlemania XII where he beat Bret Hart.

The 14-time World champion won the Royal Rumble match twice in his career. He won his first Royal Rumble match in 2002 and received a title shot at WrestleMania. Triple H beat Chris Jerico at Wrestlemania 18 and won the WWF Undisputed title.

Triple H won his second Royal Rumble match 14 years later in 2016. He also won his 14th WWE title in the Royal Rumble match. He was the last entrant of the Royal Rumble match and won the match by last eliminating Dean Ambrose.

Batista is not an active wrestler, but he has a chance to enter Royal Rumble this year. He appeared on the 1000th episode of Smackdown where he had a face-off with Triple H, and they could have a match at Wrestlemania 35. The 6-time WWE champion won Royal Rumble match twice in his career.

Batista's maiden Royal Rumble victory came in 2005. He had an astonishing feud with Triple H and it it was one of the best feuds of the last decade. Batista left Evolution and challenged Triple H for the WWE World Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania 21. He mainevented Wrestlemania 21 where he won the title against Triple H.

Batista won his second Royal Rumble match in 2014 when he last eliminated Roman Reigns. However, the WWE Universe gave a negative reaction to his Royal Rumble victory. Subsequently, he mainevented Wrestlemania 30 but failed to win the WWE World Heavyweight title against Daniel Bryan and Randy Orton.

Orton won his first Royal Rumble match in 2009. He started a feud with McMahon family when he attacked Vince McMahon on the Raw before Royal Rumble. Afterwards, he won the Royal Rumble match after eliminating Triple H from the ring. As the winner of Royal Rumble, Orton got a title shot against Triple H at Wrestlemania 25, but he failed to win the title.

Cena won his second Royal Rumble match in 2013 and got a chance to headline Wrestlemania 29. Subsequently, he had a remarkable rivalry with The Rock whom he defeated at Wrestlemania 29 and won the WWE title.

Steve Austin won his first Royal Rumble match in 1997, but the victory came controversially. Austin faced Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 but unfortunately, he lost the match.

Austin won two consecutive Royal Rumble matches, as he was the winner in 1998. Austin locked horns with Shawn Michaels and won the WWF World Heavyweight title after beating Shawm Michaels at Wrestlemania 16.

Subsequently, Austin won his third Royal Rumble in 2001 when he last eliminated Kane. He headlined WrestleMania 17 where he defeated The Rock to win his fifth WWF title.
