9 Superstars who beat The Undertaker twice

The Phenom

The Undertaker has been a main event star in WWE, for nearly 30 years now. He debuted at Survivor Series 1990 and has been a mainstay ever since then.

He was a full-time star for 20 years until he became a part-timer in 2010. After that though, despite being over 40 years old, he has had some of the best WrestleMania matches in history. In fact, when most people think of WrestleMania, the first person that comes to mind is The Undertaker.

Even here in 2019, 9 years after he went part-time, he is still wrestling. His most recent match was in July at Extreme Rules where he teamed with Roman Reigns to face Shane McMahon and Drew McIntyre.

Undertaker has been protected for his entire career, so having one win over him is a huge accomplishment. But these 9 Superstars haven't just defeated him once, they have done it twice. Here are 9 Superstars who beat The Undertaker twice.

#9 Kurt Angle

The Olympic Gold Medalist

Kurt Angle is one of the greatest in-ring performers in wrestling history, and that was proved when he had one of The Undertaker's best non-WrestleMania matches.

Angle and Undertaker had an amazing match at No Way Out 2006 for the World Heavyweight Championship. Angle retained the title via roll-up, and although the finish was a flash pinfall, the match was great.

Angle also defeated Undertaker back in 2000, when he was the WWE Champion. The match took place at Survivor Series 2000 and had a really strange finish. The referee was counting the pin but stopped when he realized it wasn't Kurt he was pinning, it was his brother Eric. Angle once again rolled Undertaker up for the win. They may have both been via roll-up, but he has beaten Undertaker twice and you can't take that away from Angle.

#8 Shawn Michaels

When you think of The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, you probably first think about their pair of matches at WrestleMania 25 and WrestleMania 26. After that, you probably think of their 1997 Hell in a Cell match.

The match took place at Badd Blood: In Your House, and Undertaker destroyed Michaels for 90% of the match. But at the end, Kane debuted to cost his brother the match, as Michaels pinned him after the interference. By the time the two men met at the 1998 Royal Rumble, Michaels was the WWE Champion. They fought in a casket match, but Michaels did end up winning with help from Kane, Triple H, and Chyna.

That was all done to set up the main event of WrestleMania 14, where Michaels would lose the WWE Championship to Steve Austin, and the Austin era would begin.

#7 Batista

The Animal
The Animal

The match that everyone remembers between Batista and Undertaker was their bout at WrestleMania 23, which Undertaker won of course. But what few remember, is the fact that Batista defeated Undertaker twice.

Batista beat Undertaker at Cyber Sunday 2007 to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. The referee in that match was Steve Austin, and we will get to him later.

Batista also defeated Undertaker with help from Edge at Survivor Series 2007, which took place the next month. It was a Hell in a Cell match, and Edge dressed as a cameraman interfered to cost The Phenom the match. He ended up helping Batista retain the title, in what was the main event of the show.

#6 Edge

The Rated R Superstar

In 2007, on the May 8th, edition of SmackDown, Edge defeated The Undertaker for the World Heavyweight Championship. This was after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. So it wasn't really a match, but technically it was.

The two men then faced each other at One Night Stand 2008 for the championship, this time in a TLC match. Edge put Undertaker through four tables and grabbed the championship from the top of the ladder. Losing the match meant Undertaker had to leave the company, but that obviously didn't last long.

#5 Triple H

The Game
The Game

Much like his best friend Shawn Michaels, when you think of Triple H and Undertaker, you think of WrestleMania. Undertaker beat Hunter at WrestleMania X-Seven in 2001, and then two WrestleManias in a row. First, in a No Holds Barred match at WrestleMania 27, and then a Hell in a Cell match, at WrestleMania 28.

But Hunter has beaten Undertaker on a couple of occasions. Hunter beat Undertaker first on an episode of SmackDown in 2000. It was a No Disqualification match, and he won after Kurt Angle 'accidentally' hit Undertaker with a sledgehammer.

Another win for Hunter against Undertaker came in 2002. The pair met in the main event of WWE's United Kingdom pay-per-view, Insurrection. Hunter won the match clean after hitting the pedigree.

#4 Mankind

Dude Love never beat Undertaker

Mick Foley did many things in his long career, during which he successfully managed to pull off three different characters. There was Dude Love, Cactus Jack, and the most successful alter ego, Mankind. Mankind defeated Undertaker clean on the King of the Ring pay-per-view in 1996, the same show where Steve Austin cut the infamous Austin 3:16 promo.

Mankind then defeated Undertaker at SummerSlam 1996, in the Boiler Room Brawl match. This was after Paul Bearer turned on Taker, and sided with Mankind. Then, in October of 1996, he beat Undertaker again, this time in a Buried Alive match. The show was fittingly called, In Your House 11: Buried Alive.

#3 Stone Cold Steve Austin

The Rattlesnake
The Rattlesnake

Stone Cold Steve Austin is the most popular wrestler in WWE history, so as you can imagine, he was pretty successful.

Austin beat The Undertaker in the main event of SummerSlam 1998 to retain his WWE Championship. After the match, The Undertaker handed the belt to Austin, and nodded as a sign of respect. But by 1999, there wasn't any respect between the two men.

The Undertaker won the WWE Championship from Austin at Over The Edge 1999, after help from heel referee Shane McMahon. Austin won the title back from The Deadman, just over a month later on Raw. On the June 28th, edition of Raw in 1999, Austin hit the stunner on Undertaker and once again, he became WWE Champion.

#2 Kane

The Big Red Machine
The Big Red Machine

The Undertaker's brother Kane debuted in 1997 and immediately started a feud with him. However, in 2010, Kane defeated Taker three pay-per-views in a row.

At Night of Champions 2010, Kane retained his World Heavyweight Championship against Undertaker in a No Holds Barred match. Then, he defeated Undertaker in a Hell in a Cell match, with help from Paul Bearer. Finally, he ended the feud with his brother in a Buried Alive match where the Big Red Monster won with some help from The Nexus. The wins might not have been clean, but Kane beat Undertaker 3 times in a row, and that is very impressive.

#1 Brock Lesnar

The Conqueror
The Conqueror

This will come as a shock to no one, as no one can forget that Brock Lesnar ended the streak.

In a moment that went down in history, Lesnar pinned Undertaker after three F5s and broke the greatest undefeated streak in wrestling history. That happened in 2014, at WrestleMania 30, and the pair had two other matches the following year.

Undertaker beat Lesnar at SummerSlam 2015 when Lesnar passed out, but the finish wasn't clean. Undertaker actually tapped out, but the referee didn't see it. This all led to a final match between the two at Hell in a Cell 2015. In a gruesome match, Lesnar pinned Undertaker to finally end their legendary rivalry for good.

Lesnar beat Undertaker clean twice and arguably was The Undertaker's greatest rival.
