Five ways Del Rio-Cena feud can end at Hell in a Cell

John Cena WWE

So, there you have it. John Cena will be back with us at Hell in a Cell. And for a change, he will be challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship. Yes, you read that right. The face of WWE will be vying for the ‘second best’ title in the company.

Now, this might be a move aimed at restoring World Heavyweight Championship’s credibility. Or, it might be a move to keep Cena out of the corporation angle. Either way, here are the five ways in which this match at Hell in a Cell can conclude.

A clean win for John Cena

John Cena – A triumphant return on the cards?

The most obvious choice, should WWE decide to go this way.

John Cena is returning to WWE after a two month injury lay-off. What better way to welcome him back than putting a prestigious title on him?

Also, putting the title on Cena will open various doors for storylines to develop. And for once, we will have top superstars vying for the ‘second best’ title.

Cena return is good news for the World Heavyweight Championship, and him holding the title above his head will be a welcome change.

Not to mention, it will provide an opportunity for Alberto Del Rio to undergo a major character restoration, finally.

A dirty win for Alberto Del Rio

Alberto Del Rio – Champion, by hook or crook

Being the resident Superman that he is, John Cena will not lose this match, if at all, in a clean manner. Whenever a superstar returns, WWE makes sure that his stock is high, and not many stocks rise above Cena’s.

So, if WWE is, indeed, planning a loss for Cena, it is bound to come under controversial circumstances. This way, WWE can take this rivalry forward and build Del Rio as a solid champion, something that they have been trying to do since a past few months, but have always ended up smashing their skulls on the wall.

John Cena, like him or not, is capable of selling his opponent. And maybe, in losing, he will be able to do the same for Alberto Del Rio.

Match ends in a no contest

No contest

No contest – WWE’s favourite result

Even though the match is scheduled for Hell in a Cell, the match will not take place inside the cell. That fact, in itself, opens up tons of possibilities for the WWE Creative Team with regards to the ending of the match.

Like it or not, there is one possibility that you cannot ignore. That is, of a no contest. This decision is not popular with the crowd, but for some reason, WWE continues to build it as their favourite outcome.

Every big rivalry, in its initial stages, involves a match that ends in a no contest. Same can be done with this match as well, provided, WWE want this rivalry to continue.

However, should WWE decide to go with this outcome, one set of stakeholders will, certainly, not be happy. The WWE Universe.

Ricardo Rodriguez interferes

Ricardo Rodriguez – Will he make his voice heard?

Ricardo Rodriguez. Alberto Del Rio’s former personal ring announcer might have a major say in this title match.

Now that Rob Van Dam is enjoying his vacation, Ricardo Rodriguez has no other option, than to be involved with the World Heavyweight Champion.

However, one question that pops out is that, who will he side with? Will he continue his fight against Del Rio and side with the returning John Cena? Or, will he turn on Cena and once again, join hands with the Mexican aristocrat?

Either way, he can have a major say in the destination of the World Heavyweight Championship.

Sandow cashes in his MITB contract

MITB Sandow

Damien Sandow – The one who holds the key

In case you forgot, Damien Sandow holds the key to blow this whole thing out of proportion.

Sandow won the World Heavyweight Championship Money in the Bank contract a couple of months back and since then, has been involved in a somewhat-meaningful storyline with Cody Rhodes and many other meaningless angles.

It remains to be seen whether this was done on purpose. Maybe, WWE want to push him from the dumps to stardom. You never know with WWE.

However, with John Cena returning, the race for the World Heavyweight Championship will only get hotter.

Whether Sandow can steal the cake from Cena, or Del Rio for that matter, remains to be seen.
