WWE News: WWE Legend's daughter hints at her father's return to the company

What's the story?

Ever since Gawker released tapes in 2015 of Hulk Hogan making racist comments, he's become persona non grata in WWE.

Two years later, however, Hogan has sued Gawker out of existence (literally), won a massive settlement, and has been enjoying a life on the beach. But, would he ever come back to WWE, now that it seems they'd like him to come back? His daughter, Brooke, seems to think there's a good chance he will.

In case you missed it...

2014, Hogan returned to WWE as a goodwill ambassador and attraction. He was named host on WrestleMania XXX, and even took on a role as a judge on WWE's reality competition show, Tough Enough.

However, Gawker - who was already being sued by Hogan after they released footage of the sex tape that was filmed without his permission - leaked audio from the footage where he allegedly made said racist statements.

WWE immediately terminated his contract and removed him from their website.

The heart of the matter

While many thought that Hogan would be welcomed back to WWE with open arms once the whole controversy blew over, what wasn't considered that Hogan might not want to come back.

After all, Hogan eventually settled with Gawker for $31 million, which allowed him to expand his Hogan's Beach Shop business (including a store in Orlando, where WrestleMania 33 was held).

TMZ caught up with his daughter, Brooke, and asked her about him returning to the company:

What's next?

While that's not anywhere near a confirmation, it's the closest we've gotten to even anyone close to Hogan commenting on his possible return.

Just like his last return - after his stint in TNA - Hogan will take his time when - and even if - he decides to announce a return to the company.

Author's take

The situation here is that neither Hulk nor the WWE actually needs each other right now. Hogan's clearly, as Brooke said, "enjoying the beach life."

Meanwhile, while WWE would certainly love to have Hulk on TV again, it's not as if he's a long-term solution for their rating issues (although let's face it, Hogan probably thinks he is).

What I'm saying here is, don't hold your breath for a Hogan return anytime in the near future. Chances are, if they come to any sort of agreement, it'll be at WrestleMania 34, where Hogan can make his triumphant return in front of the thousands of Hulkamaniacs packed in the Silverdome. I mean, Superdome.
