From the WWE rumour mill: Zlatan Ibrahimovic making a surprise appearance at WrestleMania 34?

What's the story?

According to WrestleZone via Oddschecker, odds on LA Galaxy's Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic making a surprise appearance at ringside have been slashed dramatically.

In case you didn't know...

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic recently moved across the pond, signing for LA Galaxy from English powerhouse Manchester United. Zlatan has played for a number of the worlds biggest clubs including the aforementioned United as well as Spanish giants Barcelona, PSG and Inter Milan.

Zlatan is one of the most recognizable names and football, know as much for his footballing ability as for his personality.

The heart of the matter

Oddcheckers report states the following:

Sources suggest that the Swedish striker is keen on an appearance at the Showcase of the Immortals, and bookies have slashed odds on the superstar taking part in the show.
He was originally a 50/1 shot to appear on the Grandest Stage of them All, but that’s been cut into 16/1 with some bookmakers.

Other footballers have made ringside appearances before including Wayne Rooney who slapped Wade Barrett.

Oddschecker spokesperson George Elek said the following:

One of the more obscure rumours bookmakers have reacted to is Swedish sensation Zlatan Ibrahimović rocking up at Wrestlemania 34. With the striker making a recent move across the pond and his flair for the dramatic – it’s easy to see why this story is gathering pace.

What's next?

WrestleMania 34 is just three days away. Will we actually see Zlatan Ibrahimovic at New Orleans?

Author's take

The report suggests that Ibra could take part in the show in some way. Could that be similar to something Gronk did last year at Mania? If only WWE had a Swedish Superstar.

It would definitely be an interesting crossover, WWE and football.
