It isn't a new WWE era without Sasha Banks

Sasha Banks

WWE has gone full speed ahead since the culmination of WrestleMania over a month ago. We have seen AJ Styles challenge Roman Reigns in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match, and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have made their highly anticipated debut in the midst of the feud.

Also, Becky Lynch was constantly being beat up by Emma until her injury (in comes the new addition of Dana Brooke), Natalya stepped up to Charlotte and her evil ways, reigniting their rivalry. Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens continue to claw at one another while in the run for the Intercontinental Championship.

This is all great. WWE is becoming exciting again, and it’s been a long time coming. But the one person that the WWE Universe is chanting for, that people are scratching their heads about is nowhere to be found. Well, when it comes to being on television.

That person is Sasha Banks.

Jim Ross has said at one time that Banks is a star. And he’s right. Sasha has the look, the charisma, and talent to be this generation’s lead female superstar. Banks’ track record shows that, especially with the year she had in 2015.

Every high profile match she has participated in, she has stolen the show, with the most recent match being at WrestleMania. All these credentials work in Banks’ favor. So why in the world has Banks been MIA on television, particularly Raw and Smackdown, since the April 18th edition of Raw?

Banks working a full live event schedule left little assurance for the fans of WWE. They certainly have been speculating as well, airing out their frustrations on social media. The reappearance of Paige and the debut of Brooke only add to the confusion.

Rumours are circulating about her being saved for a long-term storyline. There is some weight to this – we are heading into the summer, where they are gearing up towards SummerSlam.

Charlotte and Natalya looks to wrap up soon; there is a possibility that we could see Banks in the title picture, as that was rumored earlier on as well. Anyone remember Fastlane? I think Banks’ quest for the title is far from over despite her WrestleMania shortcomings.

Whatever happens though, the fans are more than ready to see The Boss once again be doing what she does best. With Banks being one of the Four Horsewomen, one could hope that WWE isn’t doing her an injustice by keeping her off of TV.

She is part of that future, that new generation of women along with Lynch, and Charlotte. In so many words, the reason for her absence better be worth it.

WWE has shown that they are invested in Banks with videos, Instagram appearances, and also they just included her and Bayley’s match from NXT Takeover: Brooklyn on the top 100 Greatest Matches list. Add that to these little teases is why fans are frustrated with not seeing her on TV every week.

The “We Want Sasha” chants are little more audible now; the frustration continues to grow as time moves on. Those little appearances are not enough for the fans.

Need I say it again? Simply put, the fans want The Boss’ presence and particularly those who aren’t able to see her at live events. They want to see her become a mainstay in a story and on television.

Fans will not accept anything less when she does return. WWE needs to show them that they are more than invested in her. The long wait must pay off. You can take that to the bank.
