The Undertaker competed in his first WWE match at a WWE Superstars taping on November 19, 1990. The wrestling icon's opponent that day, Mario Mancini, recently revealed some exciting news about his in-ring future.
Mancini appeared in WWE between 1984 and 1992. The 57-year-old wrestled several high-profile names, including Bret Hart and Macho Man Randy Savage. His match against The Undertaker was filmed three days before The Deadman's televised debut at Survivor Series 1990.
On the Cheap Heat Productions Podcast, Mancini said he will come out of retirement to wrestle for Great North Wrestling (GNW) on June 29:
"I'm going to rely on my psychology skills to get through a wrestling match. I'm sure it'll be fine. I'll just mimic à la [former WWE agent] Chief Jay Strongbow, my second father, and I'm sure I'll be fine because the Chief has taught me many things, not only about wrestling but about life." The event will take place in Napanee, Ontario, Canada, eight days after Mancini's 58th birthday.
The former WWE wrestler retired in 2021
Mario Mancini owns Paradise Alley Pro Wrestling (PAPW) with fellow veteran wrestler Paul Roma.
On a previous Cheap Heat Productions Podcast episode, Mancini recalled how he initially felt after retiring from the ring at the age of 55:
"It was nice. I left my boots in the middle, the whole dressing room emptied out and came out. One of my daughters was there. I had her come into the ring, I gave her a hug, and it was just really nice. A lot of guys cry [when they retire], and I was just glad it was over because I really had my fill."
Mancini's previous retirement match was held in Woodbridge, Connecticut, on November 13, 2021. He lost to Dustin "Flash" Waller in a Career vs. Title bout.
