Former WCW star Disco Inferno recently responded to claims that WWE was trolling Edge during their programming.

The Rated-R Superstar showed up at AEW WrestleDream after a 25-year-long career with WWE. During interviews, both parties mentioned that they were happy for each other and it was best for Edge to pursue his goals in the Tony Khan-led promotion. However, when Adam Copeland was set to debut on AEW Dynamite, NXT stacked their card with top main roster stars such as Cody Rhodes, John Cena, Paul Heyman, The Undertaker, and more.

During a recent episode of the Keepin' It 100 podcast, Inferno mentioned that WWE was not necessarily trolling Edge by stacking their NXT shows. He claimed that the Stamford-based company was just giving a receipt to Tony Khan's promotion for all the times they bragged about beating WWE in the Wednesday Night Wars a few years ago.

"This wasn't a troll. This was a receipt. Okay? All that AEW, back when they were head-to-head against NXT on Wednesday nights, they were taking their Ws and bragging about beating their developmental show. So WWE said, 'Okay we're gonna compete again a couple of years later. It's not gonna really be our developmental show. Let's see how you do if you're head-to-head with some of our main roster stars,' and they obviously got, you know, they got beat," Disco Inferno said. [0:29 - 1:00]

Wrestling veteran Konnan also agreed to Disco and mentioned that they were just setting up their programming to get more eyeballs on their product.

"Yeah it's like you said. It's counterprogramming, it isn't trolling," Konnan said. [1:16 - 1:20]

Konnan feels WWE is doing its best work at the moment

During the same conversation, Konnan also pointed out that WWE was the top wrestling promotion by a long margin. He claimed that the company was doing well with all its three brands.

"They're just on their game right now... so you've Shawn Michaels, and I think this guy called Russo works under him, and whoever else is working with him. You got Shawn Michaels taking care of that, you know, you got Paulie and Michael Hayes and Bruce Pritchard taking care of RAW and SmackDown, whoever else is taking care of that, and then you've got oversewing it, Triple H, who has understood, you know, what the wrestlers or the people who look up to him, he can talk the wrestling language, you know, there would never be another Vince, he was the greatest to do it, but you know, Vince was coming in last minute changing things around, and it just seems like he [Triple H] has a more long-range focus like they used to do before Triple H, you know what I'm sayin'? And all three brands they're thriving because of it," Konnan said. [3:03 - 3:47]

The wrestling veteran claimed that the current creative team headed by Triple H has done some amazing work over the last few months and brought out some great storylines for all three brands.
