Who is Lars Sullivan?

Those of you who are familiar with the NXT product must have come across this mountain of a man before this. For the lot of you that have never watched NXT (what are you doing in life?), let me introduce you to the man who made his debut on the episode of WWE RAW after WrestleMania 35 (results at this location).

Lars Sullivan was the resident monster of NXT, a beast with remorse. He was portrayed as someone with an anger problem, who could not keep his temper in check. Through his NXT run, he was quite understandably portrayed as a monster heel.

While he did attack Kurt Angle during his debut on WWE RAW, we know that Kurt Angle will not be wrestling Lars Sullivan anytime soon. So let's take a look at the 5 potential candidates who could potentially take him on next.

Please leave a comment and let me know the dream matches that you'd like to potentially see.

#5 Braun Strowman

This is a very logical matchup if you look at how the two men involved in this equation size up. From the beginning, WWE has liked to book two beastly men against one another, to see who the ultimate force is. Undertaker's whole career and especially his WrestleMania streak is a testament to this very fact.

And this is why I believe that Braun Strowman and Lars Sullivan are destined to take each other on in a clash of the bulls very soon indeed. Both men are monstrous individuals and both men will be heavily protected in the main roster. And this is why I think Strowman vs. Sullivan will happen.

I daresay this could be a long term program. Fans certainly wouldn't mind.

#4 Samoa Joe

While Lars Sullivan may have officially made his debut on the RAW after WrestleMania 35, bear in mind that there's always a chance that he could end up on SmackDown Live next. I mean RAW has enough big men as it is. There's also a high chance that US Champion Samoa Joe comes to RAW as part of the Superstar Shake-Up next week.

Whatever the case may be, I think it is all too likely that if Sullivan and Joe square off, Samoa Joe can potentially become a top babyface soon. Joe has the intensity and the fire to be someone that the crowd gets behind with utmost conviction. He can also wrestle as a babyface when he is given the opportunity.

We saw how he played the good guy during his feud with Brock Lesnar. I think a very similar feud can happen with Sullivan over the US title, that could enhance the US title picture significantly.

#3 Roman Reigns

So, it is quite clear that Roman Reigns will be kept away from the title picture for the time being with Seth Rollins emerging as the face of the company. In which case, Roman Reigns can slip into the John Cena role by helping out young talent when they get called up to the main roster.

One incredible talent in this regard is a gentleman by the name of Lars Sullivan. This not-so-gentle man can benefit greatly from working against someone as experienced and as high profile as Roman Reigns.

And more than anything else, I've interviewed more than one individual who's told me what a joy it is to work with someone like Roman Reigns and just how positive he is. In light of his recent anxiety issues, working with someone who is essentially a good human being can yield some big results.

What do you think?

#2 Rey Mysterio

Rey Mysterio's current role in the company is to put over younger talent and establish them as the superstars they are. He did the same for Samoa Joe at WrestleMania, who may be a veteran in the business but is still relatively new in the WWE. He elevated Andrade to the next level, with some really enthralling matches.

We know that Vince McMahon and WWE love the whole David vs. Goliath visual, don't they? This is why they have booked Rey Mysterio to face so many bigger men over the years, and spoken about his heart and his spirit during all his feuds. With Dolph Ziggler gone, WWE may want Sullivan to work with a veteran who can give him some extraordinary matches.

There is literally nobody better suited for the role than Rey Mysterio is. Not only can Mysterio make Sullivan into a star overnight, but he will also take the pin if the situation demands.

#1 Brock Lesnar

Honestly, this is a match that is waiting to happen. Lars Sullivan is a believable opponent for Brock Lesnar and a man who looks like he can be quite a match for the Beast Incarnate. He certainly has the physical attributes that can make audiences believe that he's quite a match. But most importantly, Lesnar needs non-title opponents to work with too.

So picture this scenario for a second, if you will. Let's assume for a minute that Paul Heyman decides to take Lars Sullivan on as his next client. And then Brock Lesnar returns breathing fire and brimstone and decides that he doesn't like another monster competing for his best friend's affections.

I can absolutely imagine someone like Lars Sullivan benefitting from being aligned with Paul Heyman. While he can speak, no one can speak like 'the advocate' does.
