RAW Preview: Injured star to turn face, former Champion to join feud against Seth Rollins? (February 3rd, 2020)

An exciting episode awaits!
An exciting episode awaits!

Welcome to this week's edition of WWE RAW Preview. It's the second episode on the road to WrestleMania and we've got a lot to build to. On the men's side, we expect there to be a build for a few matches in Saudi Arabia for Super ShowDown. This means that Brock Lesnar has to have another opponent, but there just doesn't seem to be anyone else apart from Drew McIntyre.

We were glad to see McIntyre call out Lesnar last week, even if it didn't end well for him. RAW last week was a lot better than SmackDown and we had some good matches and new feuds come to a head, while some might be wrapping up.

On the women's side, we presume that we're going to see a build towards Elimination Chamber. Though the RAW roster isn't particularly stacked on the Women's side, we could see a big match at Elimination Chamber.

Before we head on to the next part, gear up by listening to what Sheamus has to say regarding his Royal Rumble opponent, Shorty G. Also, The Celtic Warrior disclosed how Edge had guided him in the early days of his career!

#5. What's the aftermath of Randy Orton's vicious attack on Edge?

Edge made his return to RAW last week to reveal that he's coming out of retirement. It was all exciting, even when Randy Orton came out and teased a Rated-RKO reunion. All of that turned to dust when Orton hit him with an RKO before proceeding to attack him with steel chairs - including one to the back of his head (a move deemed illegal by WWE).

While Edge was taken to the nearest medical facility and his status unknown, could Randy Orton be confronted by a man he didn't close the chapter with - AJ Styles? We could see Styles and The OC turning face to feud with Orton, though there have been rumors of Styles potentially suffering an injury.

#4. Who will Kevin Owens recruit after Samoa Joe's injury?

Kevin Owens
Kevin Owens

It hasn't been the best week for Kevin Owens. Last week, he teamed up with Samoa Joe to challenge Buddy Murphy and Seth Rollins for the RAW Tag Team Championship. Samoa Joe reportedly suffered a concussion during the match and was barred from re-entering the match.

Forced to fight alone, the numbers game proved too much for Owens, who was defeated by the Champions. With Joe out indefinitely, Kevin Owens and The Viking Raiders need to find a new recruit in their battle. Right now, Rey Mysterio seems like an option, but we feel that Aleister Black is going to be the one to join Owens and The Viking Raiders.

After all, he has a fairly recent history with Buddy Murphy and he also got mixed up with Murphy and The AoP at ringside at Royal Rumble 2020 in the main event. He appears to be the most logical option and fans would undoubtedly prefer seeing the former NXT Champion in the mix against main eventers rather than squashing enhancement talent.

#3. What will happen after Liv Morgan got her retribution against Lana?

Liv Morgan finally got a win after her return

For some reason, Rusev and Bobby Lashley weren't at the Royal Rumble despite being advertised. The following night, they were barred from ringside as Liv Morgan went to settle the score with Lana.

This time around, there were no shenanigans and Liv Morgan won quickly in a fairly easy and straightforward match. Despite this, the commentators don't seem to think that this entire rivalry is over and unfortunately, we have to agree with that.

While this should have ended a couple of months ago, it goes on and this week, we expect Bobby Lashley and Rusev to be right back in the mix after the main event of the pre-Royal Rumble RAW.

It's been all Bobby Lashley inside the ring, so the big question is as to whether Rusev will finally be able to get his retribution. For some reason, we can see this dragging on until Super ShowDown and a match there to settle it all.

#2. What awaits Becky Lynch?

The Man survived a war
The Man survived a war

Becky Lynch finally collected her debt at the Royal Rumble when she defeated Asuka - the one woman who she never defeated before. It was a war and she got the victory that she desperately wanted.

Now, what's next for her? The instant thought process was Charlotte Flair for WrestleMania 35, but what's the guarantee that Lynch completes a year as Champion? She has one final hurdle on the road to WrestleMania - the Elimination Chamber.

Unless WWE gives her a night off and uses the Chamber to determine a #1 contender, we imagine that she'll be defending her title against multiple other women - and that may very well include Asuka. We could see Shayna Baszler getting involved as well.

However, the path for the RAW Women's Champion is an interesting one. She has Charlotte Flair possibly looming over her for an inevitable WrestleMania encounter but before that, she has to beat multiple women. While she's had many big challenges in her long reign, nothing has come close to this task.

#1. How will Drew McIntyre respond to Brock Lesnar?

Statement made.
Statement made.

Brock Lesnar made a big statement last week when he attacked Drew McIntyre from behind. Usually, Royal Rumble winners take their time and wait it out for a few weeks to a month to decide which Champion they're challenging.

Just like Becky Lynch last year, Drew McIntyre wasted no time in revealing the Champion he wanted to face - calling out The Beast Incarnate and WWE Champion Brock Lesnar. He even squashed Gallows & Anderson - "The best tag team in the world".

His excitement was cut short when he was attacked by Brock Lesnar. After a month of weekly appearances, we anticipate that Brock Lesnar will take a nice little break for himself - atleast until he collects a big pay cheque at WWE Super ShowDown. The big question is as to who's ready to face him apart from McIntyre.

WWE may have to just make some throwaway squash match for the sake of Lesnar appearing. One thing is for sure - Drew McIntyre is going to be at 110% as we head into WrestleMania.
