RAW Preview: Randy Orton's next "victim" possibly revealed, reason behind Dominik-Seth Rollins confrontation revealed?

Dominik is back!

Welcome to this week's edition of our Monday Night RAW preview. While last week wasn't heavy on the build to SummerSlam 2020, this week's episode of RAW should ideally begin the build to SummerSlam or, at the very least, have SummerSlam implications.

It's going to be a stacked episode of RAW with two Extreme Rules title matches, a big return, and more. Let's jump right into the RAW preview!

#5. Randy Orton's next victim will be announced on RAW

The Viper strikes again
The Viper strikes again

We've said it time and again — Randy Orton in the pandemic era of WWE has truly taken it to another level. He's among the top stars on RAW and after defeating Edge, he continued to show his true, sadistic side. After brutalizing a retired Christian, Orton would then be confronted by Big Show on RAW.

He ended up facing Big Show in an unsanctioned match last week and defeated him in the main event. With Big Show gone, Orton will look to continue his legend killer run.

This time, it may not even be a legend. Orton is set to announce his next victim and we anticipate that his victim will also be a SummerSlam opponent. At this point, who seems to be the most logical choice as Orton's opponent at SummerSlam?

While Edge would have been a perfect SummerSlam opponent (especially since they're now 1-1), it's clear that he's out for the rest of 2020. Until then, it seems like there's one man who Randy Orton can face and challenge, WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

McIntyre vs. Orton would be a blockbuster SummerSlam main event, especially since their standard SummerSlam headliner, Brock Lesnar, isn't present this time around.

It's going to be exciting to see who Orton announces as his next victim. It should ideally be McIntyre if WWE wants the best box office at SummerSlam.

#4. Dominik Mysterio returns to confront Seth Rollins on RAW

Dominik will confront Seth Rollins on Monday Night RAW.

It's always exciting when Dominik Mysterio returns to WWE television. He's had an increasing presence on WWE programming, including RAW, over the last year or so, getting involved in his father's feuds with Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar and now Seth Rollins.

Perhaps his most "iconic" or memorable moment yet was when he attacked Lesnar at Survivor Series 2019, but it's no secret that he's going to transition into WWE as a full-time performer at some point.

It's only a matter of when and not if. Ultimately, we have to wonder how much Rey Mysterio's eye injury has to play into it. Either way, Dominik will return to confront Seth Rollins and with little to no help, we anticipate that the night won't end well for him.

We're either going to get a tease of Dominik before his first official match, or we'll end up seeing the 23-year-old future WWE star get a major beatdown in the hands of Seth Rollins and Murphy. It's likely to be the most tense and intense segment on RAW this week.

#3. RAW Tag Team #1 contendership match - Winners face Street Profits at SummerSlam

This should be a fun one!
This should be a fun one!

The Street Profits have been the RAW Tag Team Champions for a while now and managed to overcome The Viking Raiders in a rather friendly feud. They weren't seen much on TV after the set of COVID-19 tests, but they recently made their return.

They're not going to be defending the titles any time in the next few weeks. Instead, their next title defense will be at SummerSlam 2020, and tonight on RAW, we'll be witnessing a Triple threat match between Cedric Alexander and Ricochet, The Viking Raiders, and Angel Garza and Andrade.

It's no secret that Garza and Andrade haven't always been on the same page, but things seem to be changing as Zelina Vega works as their mediator. Now in the tag team division, the two will look to make a big impact and we expect them to outdo the other two teams and secure a RAW Tag Team Championship match at SummerSlam. They could even end up winning at the biggest party of the summer.

#2. Asuka vs. Sasha Banks - RAW Women's title match (Title can change hands in case of DQ or count-out)

Asuka and Sasha Banks
Asuka and Sasha Banks

It's a big rematch on RAW from a big pay-per-view. Asuka faced Sasha Banks at Extreme Rules 2020 but a mishap and controversial finish involving Bayley saw an unrecognized "title change" take place.

In reality, Sasha Banks simply possesses the RAW Women's Championship — she's not the actual, recognized Champion. To deal with the controversy, Stephanie McMahon showed up on-screen and announced that in a week's time, the two will have a rematch.

This time, the title can change hands even if there is a disqualification or a count-out. It's a tougher hill for Asuka to climb, but she's not a Grand Slam Women's Champion for nothing. If there's anybody on the roster (now that Becky Lynch is gone) who can climb a hill and overcome such odds, it's The Empress herself. Unfortunately for Sasha Banks, it could mean missing out on becoming an actual double Champion like her best friend, Bayley.

#1. Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler wrap up their RAW rivalry

Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler will go at it again
Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler will go at it again

Drew McIntyre will face Dolph Ziggler on RAW in a non-title rematch from Extreme Rules 2020. At the pay-per-view, Dolph Ziggler earned the right to choose the stipulation and chose an Extreme Rules match. That stipulation was unfair to the WWE Champion Drew McIntyre, as Ziggler was the only one who could skirt the laws. The Extreme Rules stipulation didn't apply to McIntyre.

That didn't stop McIntyre from prevailing and the next night, he was face-to-face with his old tag team partner again. This time around, McIntyre will choose the stipulation of the match scheduled for RAW and not Ziggler.

Given how dominant McIntyre has been as the WWE Champion, we expect this match on RAW to be no different. In fact, one could argue that it'll be an easier task for him this time around, especially since there's less pressure on him.

Either way, this win will cement McIntyre as the true WWE Champion heading into SummerSlam. Whether or not it leads to a seemingly-inevitable Randy Orton clash, we're yet to see.
