WWE organized a one of a kind event in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The Greatest Royal Rumble truly lived up to its hype and was full of twists and turns.

With a stacked match card, the WWE's efforts to make the show a grand affair proved fruitful, and appearances by the who's who of the industry captivated the crowd and kept them on the edge of their seats.

Here are the five best matches of the event which didn't disappoint and lived up to the fans' expectations.

#5 Cedric Alexander vs Kalisto

Can the cruiserweights ever not have a great match?
A great match

Winner: Cedric Alexander

Rating: 3.5/5

WWE Cruiserweight Champion Cedric Alexander had his first title defence when he squared off against Kalisto in the second match of the event. You'll never find cruiserweight wrestlers involved in a bad bout, and this match was no exception.

Right from the get-go, the clash was fast-paced with both getting equal offences on the other. There was never a dull moment in the match, and the crowd reacted to most of the spectacular high-flying action from the two competitors. After reversing a Salida del Sol, the champion countered with a beautiful midair Lumbar Check and pinned Kalisto to retain his title.

The 205 Live performers have never backed down from giving their all, and if this epic contest was any indication, we are sure in for more astonishing matches on grand platforms.

#4 John Cena vs Triple H

Two veterans of the industry

Winner: John Cena

Rating: 3.5/5

When two of the most popular Superstars of all time open the show, you are in for an amazing match between the two. Both John Cena and Triple H were looking for redemption after facing losses at WrestleMania 34.

Thanks to the thunderous ovation by the Saudi fans, the match exceeded expectations despite not being a very technically high-risk match. The two veterans sure know how to tell a story with "The Game" portraying his heelish persona to perfection. The crowd enthusiastically responded with "Yeahs" and "Boos," which made the match even more interesting.

After a hard-fought battle, Cena came out on top after hitting an Attitude Adjustment, a slingshot into the turnbuckle and, finally, the third AA to put his foe away. "The Cenation Leader" thanked the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their unmatched hospitality and the honour and opportunity of allowing him to compete at the Greatest Royal Rumble.

#3 AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura (WWE Championship)

Winner: Double Count-out

Rating: 3.75/5

In a rematch of their WrestleMania dream bout, AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura went head to head for the WWE Championship. The dynamics were different as Styles had been subject to a series of low blows in recent weeks at the hands of "The Artist," and the challenger seemed to have gotten under Styles's skin.

The contest was evenly matched with the crowd completely invested for the two superstars. A fast-paced and hard-hitting battle kept the fans on the edge of their seats, and one could feel the rush of emotions between Styles and Nakamura.

Nakamura was looking to ensure the victory after hitting a low-blow on "The Phenomenal One," but could not capitalize on the opportunity. The match finally ended in a double count-out when the champion ignored the ref and continued to attack Nakamura at ringside.

After failing to put on a clinic at WrestleMania, Styles and Nakamura put on a phenomenal performance that truly lived up to the fans' expectations. The rivalry seems to be far from over, and we may see a rematch at Backlash.

#2 50-Man Royal Rumble Match

The two pillars of the contest

Winner: Braun Strowman

Rating: 4/5

When the WWE announced the 50-Man Royal Rumble Match for the event in Jeddah, the fans didn't know what to expect from the largest of its kind contest. The historic match didn't disappoint and was witness to some of the greatest records getting broken.

Daniel Bryan entered at #1 and lasted a whopping 76 minutes before getting eliminated by his new rival, Big Cass. Stars like Elias, Roderick Strong, Rey Mysterio, Baron Corbin, Mark Henry, and Randy Orton had their share of showcases which wowed the WWE Universe.

However, the undisputed highlight of the match was Braun Strowman. "The Monster Among Men" entered at #41 and wrecked havoc right from the beginning, eliminating 13 participants in the process and going all the way winning the biggest Royal Rumble Match.

The match was excellent, to say least. From Titus O'Neil's hilarious slide to Shane McMahon getting choke slammed on top of the announcer's table, moments like these made the event memorable. Braun Strowman deservedly won the match, and maybe now is finally the time for Brock Lesnar to "get these hands."

#1 Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match

The match of the evening

Winner: Seth Rollins

Rating: 4/5

The Intercontinental Championship Ladder match was undoubtedly the best match of the evening. Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and The Miz had already put on a spectacle at WrestleMania 34; with Samoa Joe's addition, the match got elevated to a whole different level.

Right from the beginning, the match was crisp and entertaining. Each performer had his moments with a lot of back and forth action among the four Superstars. The unpredictability of the outcome played a vital role as it kept the crowd on its feet.

Finn Balor seemed to have won the match when he was alone on the top of the ladder, but a heroic leap from the top rope and Rollins managed to rip the title from its hook before Bálor even knew what had happened.

What a neat and breathtaking finish to a stunning contest!
