5 things that must happen on WWE RAW, NXT and SmackDown this week: Drew McIntyre stands tall; Roman Reigns degrades The Usos

Is the WWE Universe ready for a few big showdowns this week?
Is the WWE Universe ready for a few big showdowns this week?

A few ordinary matches and segments consumed most of the time on WWE RAW. Shayna Baszler picked up a humiliating loss at the hands of Reginald on the show. Randy Orton was able to put Xavier Woods away during their match with the BroDerek.

The highlight of the Red brand was the match between Kofi Kingston and Drew McIntyre. Will McIntyre be able to put down The All Mighty at WWE Hell in a Cell after defeating the only man who’s pinned him in recent months?

Adam Cole returned to WWE NXT and attacked Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly and Johnny Gargano early in the night. Karrion Kross wasn’t too happy with Cole’s actions and decided to challenge him and the other three men to a massive NXT Championship match at TakeOver.

WWE SmackDown saw Dominik pin Jimmy Uso to retain the SmackDown Tag Team Championships for himself and his father. However, an unclean finish allowed The Usos to get a rematch for the titles later in the night.

Roman Reigns came out to attack The Mysterios during the second match, causing a disqualification in the process. Will The Tribal Chief make The Usos pay for their inability to win the SmackDown Tag Team Titles? Or will The Bloodline implode before WWE Hell in a Cell?

Take a look at five things that must happen on WWE RAW, NXT, and SmackDown this week.

#5 MACE and T-BAR must win the Tag Team Battle Royal on WWE RAW

A lot will be at stake on WWE RAW this week, including a future shot at the WWE RAW Tag Team Championships. AJ Styles and Omos currently hold the titles, and it looks like it’ll be very difficult to take the titles away from The Giant and The Phenomenal One.

Five teams will compete in a Tag Team Battle Royal on Monday night in the hopes of getting the next shot at the RAW Tag Team Champions. Randy Orton and Riddle will have the upper hand in the contest as they have been doing pretty well in WWE of late.

The New Day also stands a fair chance of winning the multi-team match as they have the experience and skills to outlast their opponents. The Lucha House Party has been used as enhancement talent more often than not, while The Viking Raiders have been away from the spotlight since their return.

MACE and T-BAR could prove to be the dark horses in the contest, and WWE must give the duo a push on Monday night. The former members of RETRIBUTION must be allowed to eliminate their competition and stand tall in the ring to get a shot at Styles and Omos.

This will allow MACE and T-BAR the chance to compete against a top team on RAW. Styles and Omos already had a short program with the heel team of Elias and Jaxson Ryker before the duo imploded.

WWE needs to save The R-K-Bro vs. Styles and Omos for a bigger event. Therefore, WWE must allow MACE and T-BAR to pick up the victory and challenge Styles and Omos at Hell in a Cell.

#4 Drew McIntyre must kick Bobby Lashley’s head off on WWE RAW

Drew McIntyre defeated Kofi Kingston after a great match on WWE RAW last week. The two superstars gave it their all to get a chance to challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship.

Now that McIntyre is the number one contender for the title, WWE will look to make things official through a contract signing segment on RAW. Fans familiar with WWE know exactly how contract signing segments end up on most occasions.

Keeping that in mind, WWE must allow The Scottish Warrior and Lashley to get in a brawl following the contract signing. McIntyre must then be allowed to break Lashley’s Hurt Lock and deliver a couple of brutal Claymore Kicks to the WWE Champion.

The All Mighty currently looks very dominant bar a pinfall loss to Kingston that surprised the WWE Universe a few weeks ago. Lashley has already been able to overcome McIntyre in recent matches.

Ending the segment this way will allow The Scottish Warrior to come out strong before the two men meet at WWE Hell in a Cell. Will McIntyre be able to win back the WWE Championship from The All Mighty Champion?

#3 Bobby Fish must return to attack Oney Lorcan on WWE NXT

Bobby Fish made his return to WWE NXT after over a year to help Kyle O’Reilly fend off an attack from Pete Dunne and Oney Lorcan. Fish, however, did not join KOR to form a partnership again and decided to settle some scores first.

A couple of weeks ago, Fish took on the man who injured him over a year ago. Dunne was dominant throughout the contest and further injured Fish’s arm before defeating him in the contest.

After the match, Lorcan continued to attack Fish while no one came out to his aide. This week on NXT, Lorcan will take on Austin Theory in a singles contest. WWE must allow Lorcan to win the match and possibly beat down Theory with Dunne before Fish comes out to the ring.

The former member of The Undisputed ERA must beat down Lorcan with some weapons and lay him out to even the score. WWE could look to book an extended rivalry between Lorcan and Fish to keep them busy in the mid-card.

Fish is another wrestler who can become a breakout singles performer if given the chance. Just like KOR, Fish could deliver some good performances to prove his fitness before moving to the top of NXT.

#2 Legado del Fantasma must attack Bronson Reed on WWE NXT

Bronson Reed defeated Johnny Gargano to win the WWE NXT North American Championship a few weeks ago. Santos Escobar then returned to badmouth the new champion a week after his victory.

Last week, Legado del Fantasma challenged MSK for the NXT Tag Team Championships. Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde took control of the match, and Escobar came out to help his team come close to a victory. However, The Colossal came out to squash Escobar and allow MSK to retain their titles after a good match.

Legado del Fantasma will surely not be happy with Reed’s actions and they will look to settle the score this week on NXT. WWE must allow The Colossal to appear in a backstage interview where Legado del Fantasma lays him out.

WWE needs to build Reed’s challenger for TakeOver: In Your House, and Escobar could be the perfect man to take him on at the event. At the same time, MSK can appear to try and help Reed after the beat down.

This could help set up a rematch between MSK and the team of Mendoza and Wilde for TakeOver.

#1 Roman Reigns must deny The Usos a shot at the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at WWE Hell in a Cell

The Usos seem to be having a pretty tough time on WWE SmackDown. Jimmy Uso returned to SmackDown a few weeks ago, and nothing has gone right for Roman Reigns and Jey Uso since.

Last week, The Usos challenged The Mysterios for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships on the show. Before the match, Reigns showed his support for his cousins and demanded that they win the titles.

However, Dominik pinned Jimmy to pick up the victory and retain the titles. After reviewing the footage of the pin, it was evident that Jimmy’s shoulders were off the mat and The Usos did not lose the match.

Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville booked a rematch for the titles later in the night. The Mysterios came close to victory once again before The Tribal Chief came out to destroy the two babyfaces.

This week on SmackDown, Reigns must come out and call The Usos unworthy of holding the SmackDown tag titles. He must deny them another opportunity to challenge for the titles at WWE Hell in a Cell.

WWE can then look to build a storyline where Jimmy continues to push his brother to leave Reigns and instead join him to challenge The Mysterios for the titles. The angle will further intensify the issues within The Bloodline, causing the partnership to implode sooner rather than later.
