What a year we already have and we just experienced the half of it. The wrestling industry is not at its best right now due to the ongoing pandemic, but a lot of wrestlers were able to showcase their tremendous abilities and talent.

A lot of them were able to climb the top of the mountain and remain there as well. From the likes of AJ Styles to Jon Moxley, we have witnessed great moments from these brilliant men. These men provided us with top-notch entertainment and some of them are on their way to becoming legends of the game.

With a lot of wrestlers reaching for the brass ring, there are ones who stood out for their great consistency and quality of work. We have some honorable mentions for wrestlers who have been outstanding this year.

HONORABLE MENTIONS: Daniel Bryan, Kazuchika Okada, Johnny Gargano, Hiromu Takahashi and Seth Rollins.

#5 AJ Styles

The current Intercontinental Champion, AJ Styles

First, we have the newly-minted Intercontinental Champion, AJ Styles. With him adding another prestigious title to his name, The Phenomenal One has cemented himself as not only one of the greatest Superstars in the company's history but also as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

At 43, Styles continues to showcase his phenomenal talent. Earlier this year, he and The Undertaker put on the critically-acclaimed Boneyard Match. It showcases The Phenomenal One's ability to work with wrestlers who may have the size advantage over him.

The current Intercontinental will celebrate his victory on the June 19th episode of Smackdown and with Styles inviting Daniel Bryan to his celebration, their feud doesn't seem to be over yet.

#4 Chris Jericho

At 49, other wrestlers would probably consider retirement or may continue to perform but not to the best of their abilities. However, Chris Jericho is not one of them as he continues to reinvent himself and put on fantastic matches throughout the course of his Hall Of Fame worthy career.

This wrestler remains a box office draw at this stage of his career and he's currently the top heel in AEW as the leader of the Inner Circle.

The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla continues to showcase his brilliant mind through his works and he had a lot of magnificent matches this year along with the dream match we had when he fought a legend in Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 14.

As the leader of the Inner Circle, he elevated wrestlers that are part of his stable which are and they're bound to be future mega stars.

Jericho is currently feuding with Orange Cassidy and they're scheduled for a match at Fyter Fest which will probably lead to a victory for The Inner Circle leader. Then he'll look to continue his feud with boxing icon, Mike Tyson.

Widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers of all time, his rockstar persona continues to entertain millions of wrestling fans around the world. He might have lost the world championship to Moxley earlier this year, but don't be surprised if Jericho will get another title reign in the future.

#3 Adam Cole

In the third spot, we have the wrestler who made history this year when he became the longest reigning and possibly the greatest NXT Champion of all time, Adam Cole.

The Undisputed Era's leader didn't need to be in the main roster to be a top guy in the company. The Panama City Playboy continues to shock the system by putting on fantastic matches against the likes of Tommaso Ciampa, Velveteen Dream, and more. With his captivating aura along with his heel persona, Cole is a star wrestler indeed.

A run in the main-roster is certainly in the books for Cole and his stablemates (Strong, O'Reilly, and Fish) as they'll surely help the ratings draw higher numbers. The fans will surely tune in when The Undisputed Era ruthlessly runs roughshod over the main roster. We saw a glimpse of that when they, along with other NXT wrestlers, invaded RAW and SmackDown last year during the Survivor Series season.

Cole's NXT Title reign is under serious scrutiny these days. After Karrion Kross made his intentions clear, Keith Lee, Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor also staked a claim to his throne.

The Panama City Playboy will face the winner of next week's Triple Threat NXT North American Title Match between the trio. Cole will face the NXT North American Champion on the July 8th episode of NXT.

As the top wrestler in NXT, he is certainly the benchmark on the brand. With him having a historic reign, it seems like he's not bound to lose the title just yet.

#2 Jon Moxley

the second and current AEW World Champion

This wrestler is a double champ. He is currently the IWGP United States Heavyweight Champion and the current AEW World Champion.

Jon Moxley is undeniably a box office draw as he leads the company in racking up head-to-head victories in the Wednesday Night Wars against NXT. The Purveyor of Violence takes the second spot as he is one of the best and most popular wrestlers in the world right now.

After leaving WWE, he immediately became a star in the indies and other promotions as he was one of the most highly sought wrestlers, and his wave of popularity remains high even to this day. The former Shield member went back to his old persona and came to AEW, and the company did an incredible job on presenting Moxley as a legit main-eventer.

Now, he's currently feuding with Brian Cage and they have a scheduled match at Fyter Fest. It'll be unsurprising when he retains since his time on top is surely not yet over.

With a lot of tremendous matches and big accomplishments this year under his name, Moxley is certainly deserving of the No.2 spot.

The former Dean Ambrose maybe the wrestler that AEW will be pinning their hopes on to help the promotion grow.

#1 Drew McIntyre

A wrestler with superb talent, good looks, and great charisma.

Drew McIntyre takes our number one spot in the list of the best wrestlers of this year till now. WWE made a tremendous job in cementing him as a big star in the industry. From his 2020 Men's Royal Rumble win to his victory against Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania 36, the Scotsman fulfilled his destiny of becoming WWE Champion.

He then went on to defend the title against Big Show, Seth Rollins, and Bobby Lashley. If his momentum isn't derailed and the Scottish wrestler booking, we may witness one of the best WWE Championship reigns in recent memory.

With McIntyre looking to continue his feud with Lashley, it will probably lead to another match at Extreme Rules. Given his current booking, McIntyre could still walk out as the WWE Champion

The Scotsman has seen a lot of highs and lows in his career as a wrestler.

With his huge win against The Beast Incarnate, he has established himself as a star in the company.
