Triple H: Finding a perfect adversary for him

As his music screams and blares to ‘bow down to the king’, for now, everyone in the locker room – except Daniel Bryan – seems to be following this order, figuratively. Triple H is doing a remake of sorts of the McMahon-Helmsley era. And, for now, I am not complaining.

If novelty or finding something new in every storyline, week after week, was a norm and a rule, then the WWE should have shut down a long time ago. It is for the hardcore fans to understand its limitation.

This storyline might be exciting and intriguing for the new fans and nostalgic for others. But the crux of the matter should be how these new set of superstars in this new era are able to relive this remake.

Bryan, Triple H and Randy Orton seem to be doing a good job. I won’t call Bryan the new Stone Cold. He’s not. He is the first Daniel Bryan. When he says he’s clawed and scraped his way here, we tend to believe him. His story goes beyond being a blue collar worker and moves to the realm of the quintessential underdog. And that’s exactly what the ‘yes’ chants embody.

As the storyline is expected to move on till Wrestlemania and play a huge role there, it means Triple H will find many adversaries on the way. One of them can be the giant with the tears like a waterfall – The Big Show.

The Big Show was supposed to team up with Mark Henry against The Shield, but following the latter’s injury, he can be the initial rehearsal challenge, who will inevitably be vanquished by Triple H. Turning Big Show heel again would not help, as the heel platform is currently best utilised by McMahon, HHH and Orton.

Other superstars can be a rebellion voice by challenging members apart from Triple H. Like Dolph Ziggler against Dean Ambrose and, after Smackdown spoilers, Kofi Kingston and Rob Van Dam versus Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. RVD and Kofi can make a great tag team, in all honesty.

Amidst all this lies the question about Vincent Kennedy McMahon. He has been absent since the past few weeks. He has visibly passed on the baton to his son-in-law but if Cody Rhodes is supposed to be rehired, then he could only be rehired by some other authority figure.

Enter Mr. McMahon. This could finally lead to the well-established power struggle and lead onto a main event calibre Wrestlemania match.

Otherwise, WWE can constantly make John Cena’s absence felt. This past week, they had the ‘Did you know’ snippets about Make A Wish Foundations, certainly one of Cena’s USP’s. These subtle hints can make the audience miss him and he can eventually return to face Triple H and challenge his authority.

But what I’m excited about is if Vince returns as an adversary to HHH, the team that both of them might have. HHH should have young blood on his side, the future and McMahon’s team should have the not-so-young and the not-too-veteran team.

P.S. At this point, given these predictions, as much as I want a Stone Cold- Punk match, that does not seem to plausible. But a promo between the two would suffice. At least make that possible WWE!
