What happened after RAW went off the air

What’s the story?

In the WWE, the show doesn't really end as soon as the cameras stop rolling on WWE's live events, and last night was completed with yet another treat for the audience in attendance after WWE RAW went off the air.

As Brock Lesnar posed for the crowd, Kane left the ring. However, the story didn't finish there as The Monster Among Men Braun Strowman made his way to the ring to add fuel to the flames of his long-running rivalry with The Big Red Machine.

In case you didn’t know…

Kane and Braun Strowman will face Brock Lesnar in a Triple Threat match for the WWE Universal Championship at Royal Rumble later this month, but where did it all go downhill for the two?

Well, they were both on the same team against a would-be reunited Shield at TLC that ended up being Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose and Kurt Angle. Braun and Kane were teaming with Miz and The Bar, Sheamus and Cesaro. It seemed like the two got their wires crossed and ended up brawling during the match - a fight which ended up with Kane pulling a string of steel chairs off the roof, crashing onto the Monster, burying him underneath.

We all know that Strowman isn't one to stay down, but his recovery was halted when he was thrown in a garbage truck and seemingly crushed and removed from the building.

Ever since, the two have been... less than friendly, shall we say. Many tables have been broken and Braun even slammed Kane through the ring on RAW recently with both men claiming to be the one true monster on the red brand.

The heart of the matter

While Lesnar posed for the crowd and Kane was making his way out of the ring, Braun Strowman came out and said he still wanted to fight, calling out Kane in the process.

The two colossal Superstars brawled, with Kane smashing Strowman with a steel chair and setting up a table. Kane went for a chokeslam but Strowman managed to counter and gave Kane the Running Powerslam through the table to end the show and send the crowd home happy.

What’s next?

Well, the Royal Rumble is still a few weeks away, so we can expect more fuel to be poured on the flames of this rivalry before January 28th, but this is hotting up to be one spectacular match.

Many will remember the 2015 Royal Rumble where Brock Lesnar faced off against John Cena and Seth Rollins in what was undoubtedly one of the matches of the year. With a lot more mass in this matchup, this may not be quite as much of an awesome technical spectacle as that one was - but with three titans going head to head for the main belt on the red brand, it's one not to be missed.

Author’s take

A lot of people groaned when Kane started to target Braun as a lot of fans have been clamouring for Strowman to be the top champ in WWE, but this one looks to be unfolding quite nicely - and this post-RAW segment only adds to that.

Braun's match with Lesnar for the title a few months ago didn't seem to live up to expectation, and with Brock and Roman already seemingly pencilled in for Mania, this could be the perfect way to change the champ without pinning The Beast Incarnate. In fact, pinning Kane and even potentially retiring him could be huge for Braun.

Either way, with Triple Threat rules mean there are no rules, this looks set to be utter carnage. Brock Lesnar is always a huge draw, Kane seems to slot right back in whenever he returns, and Braun Strowman was arguably the most improved Superstar of 2017, proving himself as one of the main reasons to tune in every week to witness his path of destruction. This match has become must-see.
