WrestleMania 35: 4 things WWE has done right for the PPV

The biggest PPV of the year is just 2 weeks away

With the biggest PPV of the year around the corner, preparations are at an all-time high. It's no surprise to see the anticipation building up among the fans for what is the biggest wrestling spectacle of the year.

For WWE as well, this is the most crucial event for them. It's common knowledge that they've been struggling with ratings, and the emergence of new competition has been a cause of concern as well.

WWE would really want this one to be a huge success and it is evident that they're putting in a lot of effort to make that happen. Let's look at the few things they're doing right leading up to what is going to be the 35th edition of the biggest PPV of the year.

#1 The all-women main event

The women's revolution has been here for a while now and women have main-evented many PPVs already, but we have to admit that an all-women main event is more because of merit than a gimmick because these women really deserve to be there.

You just need to ask yourself a simple question. If not this, then what? What else would you put up as the main event? The Universal Championship match? The WWE Championship match? The match between Batista and Triple H? No, none of them. None of them make as much sense as the Raw Women's Championship match between the three leading ladies of wrestling right now.

To WWE's credit as well, they've gone out of their way to promote this one as many barriers have been broken and wrestlers have let loose on Twitter against each other on numerous occasions. There's legitimate heat between the three women and the match deserves to be the curtain call for the biggest PPV of the year (of course with Becky Lynch standing tall with the belt).

#2 The underdog story in the WWE Championship

Everybody just loves an underdog story and WWE are really going an extra yard in building that one with Kofi Kingston put up against so many odds which just seem insurmountable.

He was taken out of the WWE Championship match by Vince and replaced by Kevin Owens, then he was put through a gauntlet match against 5 wrestlers which he won but then got it all taken from him with the final addition of Daniel Bryan to the match.

Kofi just doesn't seem to catch a break and what it has done is galvanize the WWE Universe in his favor and everyone is rooting for him. What remains to be seen is how he finally makes his way to the match because there are only two weeks left and he's still not confirmed to be Daniel Bryan's opponent.

#3 The "Legacy Match" between Batista and Triple H

Every year one feels you need some star power to feature at WrestleMania to keep the eyeballs on the show. John Cena and The Rock have been providing it for a while but this year with what seems like a hiatus (though we still don't know, they might just show up) for both of them has seen Batista jump in with his match against Triple H, and we have to admit he's doing a pretty good job at that.

The feud between him and Triple H has legitimate heat and will keep the crowd engaged for sure. Two heavyweight legends going at it with Batista playing the role of a heel admirably, as you've got to admit that his addition to this card has really done a world of good to the show.

#4 No Undertaker

The Undertaker might not feature at WrestleMania this time around

This might irk the purists, but I feel it's about time WWE decided to move on from the Phenom because it's gotten to a point that it just doesn't look pretty. The last few appearances in the ring for the Undertaker have left a lot to be desired.

His movements look labored, he looks slow, he's nowhere close to the shape he was in earlier years, and yes it is pretty clear that age catches up with you and it has with him as well.

The last outing with Kane, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H was a real disappointment whichever way you want to put it, and it's just not how you would want to remember the Undertaker.

The career should have reached its curtain call after the Lesnar match but WWE has just looked to mint more money out of it. Let's hope after the last outing for the veteran, WWE has realized that it's just not worth it.
