WWE 2K17 Pre-release review

October is coming

Anybody got an Xbox? Well, you’re out of luck as the new WWE 2K video game, cleverly called WWE 2K17, only runs on Xbox ONE and Xbox 360, and also Xbox 360 and PS3. It’s gonna run you around 60 clams for the basic game, but for $99.99 you can get the super-secret Demon Box. It comes with Apollo Crews and he comes with a special spelling smile finisher!

But for real, the game is stacked to the gills with current grapplers, legendary knuckle throwers, and some guy named “Luke.” Seriously, who is Luke? So here it is, the final list of 400,000 playable wrestlers in the new game that probably comes out before Halloween.

Hey, I was right about platforms and time!

This is so rad. The gameplay for these 2K games is usually solid, but in this case, it’s just the single-player “story/career” modes that are kind of a bummer which are too rigid and have no heart. So hopefully this time around, we get something of substance, otherwise, it looks like it will still be fun to play online or with your friends due to the sheer volume of wrestlers.

Tell me that doesn’t look great. From a looking standpoint, at least.

Really excited to play as Naomi, as I think she is the crispest wrestler in the whole company. Let’s see if it ties over into the game. This is a good showing of the women this company has finally begun to show a little respect.

Puff Diddy did the music or something. I wish you could play as him.

WWE have started to bring out some really cool Legends for the game, which are always fun even though they never get the stats right. Also, It doesn’t sit right with me that Daniel Bryan is listed as a “Legend.” I mean, he is, and I get it, but I don’t like it.

Who’s Next? Goldberg. Goldberg is next.

I guess you get these by downloading them or pre-ordering the ‘Tall Box That Is Guarded By The Irish Eye Monster’, which is kind of a jerk move and I can barely turn my Xbox on, but whatever. I pre-ordered the big NXT/Goldberg special, so I’ll probably only definitely play as Shinsuke Nakamura the entire time while I own this wacky game. That is after my wife helps me figure it out.
