4 WWE Superstars who are still free agents

We are approaching the two-month mark of the WWE draft, and just about every superstar on the roster is locked into either Raw or SmackDown. As we have seen from names such as Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, and Apollo Crews all having marquee spots at SummerSlam, the mission to forward the “New Era” movement is alive and well. During the WWE Draft, former WWE Tag Team Champion Heath Slater was left without a brand to call home. Since then, he has been volleying between Raw and SmackDown, just recently having an opportunity to finally land on a brand by being a part of the SmackDown Tag Team Title tournament. While still considered a free agent, Slater should not feel alone, as there are others who have yet to be picked up.

Here are four WWE superstars who are still free agents.

4: Luke Harper

As one of the most agile big men in the WWE, Luke Harper made his name as a member of the Wyatt Family, often teaming with stablemate Erick Rowan. While the team was unsuccessful in capturing the WWE Tag Team Championships, Harper did experience some success as a singles competitor by defeating Dolph Ziggler nearly two years ago – on the go-home episode of Raw before Survivor Series – to capture the WWE Intercontinental Championship. While his run was a bit lackluster due to his character not getting an adequate build, he has an opportunity to potentially make headway in the singles division once again after he returns from injury.

3: Emma

While struggling to gain steam on the main roster after a successful babyface run on NXT, EMMA totally repackaged herself to a self-aggrandizing, cocky heel with new gear, new music, and Dana Brooke as added protection from her foes. She was sent back to NXT, which ended up being a significantly positive decision to rebuild her character, and became one of the top heels for the brand. Shortly after gaining enough steam to return to the main roster, she experienced an unfortunate injury that put her on the shelf. If WWE continues the momentum she has gained, EMMA could be one of the top women’s competitors for either brand.

2: The Rock

Despite numerous reports stating that he was not allowed to compete due to an upcoming movie role, the Rock shocked the record-breaking Dallas crowd at WrestleMania 32 by opposing Erick Rowan in the ring, breaking yet another WrestleMania record by defeating him in six seconds. It has been five months since we saw The Rock on WWE television, but more than likely “The People’s Champ” will return again towards WrestleMania 33 season. It will be interesting to see if he competes in a full-length match next year, and what brand he will go to for his next opponent.

1: The Undertaker

The Undertaker’s 2016 run in WWE was a bit confusing, as he sided with Vince McMahon in the attempt to extinguish the surprising return of Shane McMahon. Eventually, the stakes became higher, as his career would have been over if he did not win. Throughout his career, Undertaker has been known for having some of the most thrilling returns. Every year, fans of WWE wait with anticipation for his return around WrestleMania, seeing who his opponent will be next. His next foe will most likely be on the brand that he is drafted to. It will be interesting to see whether WWE promotes a brand picking him up before his return, or surprising us with a non-advertised appearance leading into his next feud.
