WWE Fastlane 2019: 5 Unpredictable Things That Need To Happen

Fastlane is the final stop on WWE's pay-per-view tour ahead of WrestleMania and it appears that there are still a number of WrestleMania matches that will be decided off the back of this event.

Of course, the WrestleMania main event is still up in the air since Becky Lynch's participation in the match will be decided on Sunday night, whilst Roman Reigns is still yet to be handed a match at the biggest show of the year, one that is shockingly not expected to be the main event for the first time in four years.

It should be an interesting night, but whilst the current card doesn't brand the event unmissable, there are a few unpredictable elements that WWE could add to ensure that it's a memorable stop on the Road to WrestleMania.

#5. Charlotte Flair defeats Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch has been at the forefront of WWE over the past few months after winning the right to main event WrestleMania when she was victorious in the Women's Royal Rumble match back in January.

Despite defeating Charlotte Flair to win the match, Vince McMahon went on to replace her with The Queen a few weeks ago on Raw when he decided that Lynch's unprofessionalism was enough to suspend her for 60 days.

It's been an interesting story that will come to a head this weekend when Lynch fights for the chance to be added back into the match, but if she loses then there will be no triple threat match at WrestleMania.

Ever since November, there has been talk of this triple threat match, even before WWE pushed the idea forward and it would definitely be interesting now if the company decided to swerve the WWE Universe and actually made it a one-on-one match between Charlotte and Rousey before giving Lynch her shot later in the year.

#4. Shane McMahon turns on The Miz

There were rumors a few months ago that The Miz was supposed to be Shane McMahon's opponent at WrestleMania this year, but that would be a hard thing to book right now since the two stars are tag team partners. The cracks have definitely started to show in the team over the past few weeks, ever since Miz cost the team their Championships back at Elimination Chamber.

It would be interesting to see if The Miz and Shane McMahon are the team who turn on each other as part of this match since many believe that The Usos could be set to lose their Championships in the coming months to The Hardyz, a match that could be made official for WrestleMania in the coming days. Whether or not Miz and McMahon's implosion will lead to The Usos finding new challengers remains to be seen.

#3. Sonya Deville costs Mandy Rose the Women's Championship

Mandy Rose has been pushed as the future of the SmackDown Women's Division for the past few months and whilst all the women from SmackDown Live have been busy fighting for the Raw Women's Championship, Rose has been proving her worth in her feud with Asuka.

The fact that Asuka's match was pulled from SmackDown Live this week has left many fans questioning if The Empress of Tomorrow is one hundred percent, which could be why many fans believe that Rose will win the match this weekend. Sonya Deville is a former MMA fighter who has come through the ranks in WWE alongside Rose yet she's been overlooked whilst Rose has ridden her looks to the top of the division and on Sunday night, it could finally come to a head.

#2. Sami Zayn returns to help Kevin Owens become WWE Champion

Sami Zayn has been out of action ever since Money in the Bank last year when it was revealed that he was struggling with two torn rotator cuffs. Zayn has since undergone surgery and has been rehabbing his injury over the past few months.

Kevin Owens returned to SmackDown Live a few weeks ago, much faster than many believed he would after double knee surgery. and fights for the WWE Championship against Daniel Bryan this weekend at Fastlane. How impressive would it be if Erick Rowan attempted to help Bryan this weekend and Sami Zayn was the man who made the save and helped his long-time friend to become Champion once again?

Of course, there is also the reverse of this and if Owens is to be pushed out of the title picture heading into WrestleMania, then Sami Zayn could also be the one who costs him the Championship to lead to their rumored WrestleMania showdown.

#1. Dean Ambrose isn't a team player anymore

Will Dean Ambrose turn on his Shield brothers this weekend?

Dean Ambrose reunited with his Shield teammates this past week on Raw when he saw that the two stars were outnumbered, but it's obvious that Ambrose is no longer a team player. Seth Rollins has a main event match at WrestleMania to look forward to whilst Roman Reigns has been missing over the past few months as he dealt with his own health problems, so Ambrose has felt very much alone.

Right now the only sensible idea for a storyline heading into WrestleMania is for Ambrose to cost his team the win and then face Reigns at the biggest show of the year. If this is to be The Lunatic Fringe's final match in WWE then Reigns would be the perfect star for him to battle with on April 8th and it would give Reigns a match at WrestleMania without interfering in Rollins' Universal Championship shot.
