WWE Monday Night RAW preview for January 6, 2013

The Next big thing

The Next big thing

The WWE capped of a rather disappoint year with a jaw dropping Raw last week. And this time the company is back in the spotlight as they are putting together the first Raw of 2014.

The hangover of Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatts, Brock Lesnar destroying Mark Henry and CM Punk stirring the Shield are still there among the WWE Universe. There won’t be a better time or place to pull of another magnificent show that this Monday.

And unlike the previous themed shows, this week’s Old School Raw will be something to look forward to as we are bound to see some old faces making surprise appearances.

Sky is not the limit for the expectations of the WWE fans, so here is a look at the main factors that makes this week’s Raw a must watch show.

Back to the future

The old School

The old School

It’s always nice to be swept away by a tide of nostalgia and this week brace yourself for the same. There is going to be an array of legends and Hall of Famers making their appearance on the show which will be decorated with a retro TitanTron and designs.

The last time the WWE pulled off such a show we witnessed the return of The Undertaker. History could be repeated as Taker will have to come sooner or later as the WrestleMania is approaching.

We might not know who all will make their appearance today but there is going to be a lot of wooing in the crowd as the Nature boy is scheduled to be present no matter what.

The current breed crossing paths with the originals will be an interesting scene to see. The whole Old School Raw could wipe off the entire bad name that last year’s themed shows made which makes it one of the important shows of the year.

The re-ignition of Randy Orton- John Cena feud

Once more

Once more

Stephanie McMahon came out last week and announced that the WWE World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton will defend his title against John Cena in a traditional one fall match.

What this means is that we are bound to see some more promos between Cena and Orton. But the interesting part in the repetitive storyline is the addition of Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar. Heyman won’t remain silent whenever Cena or Orton tries to cut a promo. A war of words between the witty Heyman and Cena is an prospect worth looking for.

Add in some muscle of Lesnar and we got our self an old tested formula being changed into a well suited new version. The saga is all ready to be kicked off this week so watch out.

Brock will pay

Revenge Time

Revenge Time

Well family I took my kids to Ohio to grandma, I was to hurt to play this new year. I’m a bit better but not out of the woods. BROCK will PAY- this was what Mark Henry said after being destroyed at the hands of Brock Lesnar last week.

Paul Heyman announced that Lesnar has his eyes set on the unified title but the company needs to keep him busy till then and by the looks of it Henry looks like the scapegoat for Lesnar’s momentum build.

Though it will be more interesting to see Big E Langston go up against Lesnar, giving Henry some limelight before WrestleMania would be a good idea. Expect more out of his rivalry and maybe a match between the two at Royal Rumble. And as always it’s always good to see Heyman get into the ring and attract all the hate in the world.

The Best from the lot

The Best ?

The Best ?

CM Punk is known for the exciting promos that he pulls off. And last week he did a great job of stirring the pot. Then the Straight edge superstar went on to give a memorable performance against Seth Rollins.

Expect him to do the same things in a better way this week, because he is going up against Roman Reigns. Punk has already defeated Dean Ambrose and Rollins which leaves Reigns as the favorite to stop the destruction of his team.

The WWE’s push of the big Samoan seems to be heading in the right direction as he stole most of the limelight last week during the opening match. He will be presented with the opportunity to prove himself in the ring and make no mistake about it, Reigns is going to make the headlines this week.

Daniel Wyatt

Family ties

Family ties

Daniel Bryan joining the Wyatts was the major story last week. Though it was a bit put off by a prerecorded SmackDown, the storyline still carries enough heat to make the arena a sellout,

No one expected the company to make such a popular star like Bryan do what he did and what unpredictability is what that makes the angle a must follow one.

Bryan might come wearing a new Wyatt outfit or reveal that he joined the family to destroy them. Either way there is going to be a lot of talking points once Bryan makes his appearance with the Wyatt Family.

The WWE seems to be hitting all the right notes as the year turned new and the fans are destined to be taken for a fun roller coaster ride this week so tighten the seat belts and sit tight.
