Alexa Bliss expertly used a trick that was used many a time by ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin to shut down heckling fans in Kansas City on the most recent episode of Monday Night RAW.
In case you didn’t know...
Alexa Bliss (Alexis Kaufman) was involved in a segment on the latest episode of RAW that involved her cutting a promo on Bayley and Sasha Banks. As is customary for several pro-wrestling fans, the Kansas city crowd tried their level best to derail the wrestler’s promo by consecutively chanting “What?”.
The 25-year old former 2-time WWE SmackDown Women’s champion turned the tables on the fans present at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri, by using their chants against them.
The heart of the matter:
Bliss was in the midst of trash-talking her rivals, current RAW Women’s champion Bayley and Sasha Banks, when the fans present in the arena broke into a “What?” chant, trying to derail her promo. For those who aren’t aware, the aforementioned chant is dreaded by some of the best pro-wrestlers in the business and has befuddled several performers mid-promo in the past, including established WWE Superstars such as Charlotte Flair.
Here’s the spontaneous retort by ‘Five Feet of Fury’-
“I legit thought I was gonna vomit talking about that. (Crowd breaks off into a “What?” chant) Really? We’re gonna play this game again? (“What?”) Alexa Bliss is the best, say what? (‘What?”) Exactly!”
Bliss’ spontaneous response led to the crowd simmering down the “What?” chants, after which Bayley and Sasha entered the ring and the segment continued. Pro-wrestling legend and WWE icon ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin is widely considered the pioneer of the dreaded “What?” chant and the Rattlesnake has, time and again, used tricks akin to Bliss’ recent showing on RAW, in order to effectively shut down the ‘Whatters’ in the crowd.
What’s next?
Bliss is the current number-1 contender for the RAW Women’s title and will challenge Bayley for the title at Payback on April 30th.

Bliss seems to have taken a page out of Steve Austin and the American Badass Undertaker’s playbook. Remember when Biker Taker shut down the fans with a pretty NSFW response?…yep!
