WWE News: Brock Lesnar reveals substance addiction that forced him to quit WWE

Everything comes at a price

All pro-wrestling fans are painfully aware of the dark underbelly of the industry. Wrestlers are perhaps the most tragic embodiments that actions have consequences, even a “once in a lifetime athlete” like Brock Lesnar.

The Beast Incarnate spoke to Sports Center recently and confessed that his first run in the WWE was very stressful and resulted in an addiction to vodka and vicodin. Lesnar was candid about the fact that he came to abhor wrestling and that’s what led him to venture into football. Here’s the video, courtesy of allwrestlingnews.com:

The former WWE World Heavyweight Champion also revealed the circumstances under which he came to be signed by the WWE. Apparently, he accepted a developmental contract from the WWE because of the financial benefit it would afford him as a young man with a huge student loan to pay.

In what is probably the most surprising admission of them all, Brock describes how UFC President Dana White didn’t even consider recruiting Lesnar to fight in the UFC. Brock actually had to jump over a barricade and push through security to get the UFC President’s attention. Well, good thinking on your feet, Brock.
