What’s the story?

Daniel Bryan has taken to social media so as to reveal a new SmackDown Top 10 list.

Besides, Bryan also explained the concept behind the list, and the criteria regarding the Superstars who can make the list.

In case you didn’t know…

The WWE constantly puts forth innovative concepts so as to evolve fan-experience, and to maintain & increase interest in the product.

While the lists put out by the WWE usually let the WWE Universe cast their vote to determine its results, the latest announcement by Daniel Bryan seems to be hinting at a tad different kind of voting.

The heart of the matter

SmackDown Live General Manager Daniel Bryan took to his official Twitter account; asserting that the new SmackDown Top 10 List will be voted on by SmackDown Live Superstars—a list that will be used by Bryan and the blue brand’s Commissioner Shane McMahon to determine matches and other segments of the show in the days to come.

Bryan stated that the criteria for voting include most talented, most athletic skill, and locker room leadership. He added that the SmackDown Live Superstars cannot vote for themselves.

Furthermore, Bryan explained that he and Shane McMahon will not have a vote, as this list is not about them, but about the SmackDown roster having a voice. Bryan captioned the video with the following statement— "Officially introducing the #SmackdownTop10. A vote BY the Superstars, FOR the betterment of #SDLive and the enjoyment of the @WWE Universe. #YesYesYes"

What’s next?

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live (30 January 2018) airs from the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and shall feature the Men’s Royal Rumble match winner Shinsuke Nakamura in a prominent segment on the show.

Fans can expect the first SmackDown Top 10 List to be released very soon.

Author’s take

Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon truly do ensure that SmackDown Live is the ‘Land of Opportunity’. Giving the players a voice in terms of voting would mean a happy roster, one that feels valued. Such a roster may well and truly deliver extravagant matches in the near future.
