On a recent edition of E&C’s Pod Of Awesomeness, Dolph Ziggler opened up on a myriad of topics, including what he feels has hurt his WWE career.

Expounding upon what has likely hurt his brand in WWE, Ziggler asserted that losing a lot on WWE programming has played a huge role in downgrading his standing in the promotion. Additionally, Ziggler added that he wants to be World champion in WWE, and headline Wrestlemania; besides also pointing out how he always tries to stand out from the others.

Ziggler has competed in the WWE for many years, however, the Showoff has lately been relegated to the role of an enhancement talent on WWE programming.

The heart of the matter

Dolph Ziggler explained that wins and losses in professional wrestling don’t matter too much but if a Superstar loses virtually every single match he competes in—be it a WWE live event or a matchup on a TV broadcast—the fans lose interest in watching said Superstar.

Furthermore, Ziggler emphasized that like most other competitors in the back, his aim is to be the top champion in WWE, headline Wrestlemania, and be a bigger part of the show. Besides, he added that he’s always been innovative; trying to stand out from the rest of the roster, hence never resorted to copying any other performer.

Addressing his ‘gatekeeper role’ on today’s roster, Ziggler opined that if he keeps losing every single match, the new performers and NXT Superstars who come up to the main roster and defeat him, don’t accomplish much, since a win over him doesn’t have any significant value.

Dolph Ziggler presently performs on the blue brand, WWE SmackDown brand. He’s rumored to be parting ways with the promotion very soon.

Dolph Ziggler is extremely talented, however, one ought to understand that winning and losing is all part of the game.

Ziggler may not like being restricted to a lesser role in this day and age, however, he’s had a great WWE career, and should he call it a day in the near future, he’d still have accomplished more than most other performers in this business ever achieve.
