What's the story?

RAW Superstar Finn Balor has met up with a boxer, and fellow Irish native Michael Conlon, ahead of WWE's Road to WrestleMania Live Event in Madison Square Garden tomorrow and Conlon's fight in the Garden on Saturday, which is on St. Patrick's Day (the biggest annual holiday in Ireland each year).

In this tweet below from Madison Square Garden's Twitter Page, it shows Balor giving Conlon a WWE Universal Title belt, whilst he was given some boxing gloves from Conlon:

In case you didn't know...

Michael Conlon is a very-well known boxer in Ireland and, he is currently trying to make his name as a Professional in America.

However, it is his amateur career which is most impressive, as Conlon won a Bronze medal at the 2012 London Olympics for his country at Flyweight level. He has also won multiple World and European amateur championships.

After a controversial quarter-final loss at the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Conlon decided to go into the professional boxing rank.

On St. Patrick's Day (a big celebration in Ireland on March 17th) 2017, Conlon won his professional boxing debut in Madison Square Garden, and he has won another four fights since, losing none.

On the other hand, Finn Balor is currently heading into WrestleMania 34 with the WWE, which will take place in a few weeks time on April 8th in New Orleans.

He will take on The Miz for the Intercontinental Title in a Triple Threat match which will also include Seth Rollins at the event.

On the latest epidofe of Monday Night RAW, Balor beat Seth Rollins.

The heart of the matter

Finn Balor and Michael Conlon even attended an Ice Hockey game together yesterday in New York, watching The New York Rangers defeat the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-3.

Former Universal Champion Balor posted the following to his Twitter account, referring to the fact they were two 'Irish lads' celebrating St. Patrick's Day (As Balor calls it, 'Paddy's Day') in New York City:

What's next?

Finn Balor will be competing at WWE's Road to WrestleMania Live Event on Friday, as WrestleMania 34 gets closer and closer.

He is the bookies' early favorite to win the Intercontinental Championship in the Triple Threat match, with The Miz defending against him and Rollins.

Just like last year, Michael Conlon is boxing again on St. Patrick's Day in Madison Square Garden, on Saturday, this time against David Berna from Hungary.

Author's take

As I am Irish myself, it is awesome to see these two amazing Irish Athletes hanging out together.

It is important that Irish People celebrate St. Patrick's Day, wherever they are in the world, so it is great to see Balor and Conlon celebrate the occasion even though they are all the way across the Atlantic in New York.

They do our country proud with all their success.
