WWE News: Former RAW GM reveals what impact Ambrose's departure will have on the company

Will Dean Ambrose's departure affect WWE at all?
Will Dean Ambrose's departure affect WWE at all?

What's the story?

Dean Ambrose is on his way out of the company after WrestleMania 35. Talk of the same surfaced first through a rumour and was later confirmed by WWE as well.

Former RAW GM Eric Bischoff was asked what impact Dean Ambrose's departure will have on WWE, on Afterbuzz TV. According to Bischoff, the company will not be affected.

In case you didn't know...

Dean Ambrose has had a mixed run since his comeback from injury. He shocked the world when he went heel on the same night that Roman Reigns announced that he would be taking a hiatus due to leukemia.

While his heel run started on the right note, questionable booking decisions followed. Ambrose was showcased taking shots to his posterior at a medical facility in a segment that received criticism from many fans.

His departure from the company stems from the fact that he's not a fan of WWE's booking.

The heart of the matter

Eric Bischoff said that Dean Ambrose's departure will not affect the company at all: This was his take:

I don't think it matters at all and it's not because of Dean's abilities or lack thereof but in WWE right now, WWE is the star. Everybody else on that roster is a co-star to one degree or another. Stars are now interchangeable.

Bischoff would go on to make a comparison with the Roman Reigns situation. He drew parallels between both cases and said how you cannot be dependent on one, two or three superstars in a publicly traded company with shareholders:

The roster is deep enough and the pool of talent is deep enough that whether it's a situation like Roman Reigns, as devastating as that was, WWE shifted on the fly. They didn't even have to hit the clutch. They just kept going. Right? And I think that's intentional.

What's next?

A feud between Dean Ambrose and Triple H was teased on RAW recently. So too was a feud between Ambrose and Nia Jax teased. One wonders if this is all a work, or indeed if Ambrose is on his way out after WrestleMania.
