WWE News: Hulk Hogan might be awarded 3 times the $115 million he won in sex tape ruling

That’s right, Hulkster

Even a few days ago, things were not in favour of former WWE Hall of Famer, Hulk Hogan. For uttering the ‘N’ word, he was fired from the company, where he was World Champion for almost 4 years. His relation with his wife and children was also depredated when website Gawker published a leaked sex tape of Hogan and his friend’s wife.

Recently, the judges gave their decision in favour of Hogan in his lawsuit against that website. It was already noted that Hulk Hogan was awarded $115 million dollars on Friday in his lawsuit against Gawker as compensatory damages after the publication leaked footage from his sex tape.

However, sources have reported that the Hulkster may end up getting a lot more money. Next week the jury will decide how much to award for punitive damages, which are designed to punish defendants for intentional wrongdoing.

The Florida Supreme Court generally tolerates punitive damage awards that are 2-3 times the amount of the decided compensatory damages. This means that Hogan could end up with $345 million in punitive damages which would put Hogan at around $460 million after adding the two.

Needless to say, Gawker has already decided to appeal against this decision.
